Well..... if you read thru THIS thread, you won't find to much bashing going on. Most of the people who post here are either current drivers or ghosts of TA who still haunt the thread. Gotta a question, ask and you'll probably get an asnwer.

This is why we are against leasing when you are new. It happens to us all. Everyone on here has done something in the beginning that was due to lack of experience. I have many stories about myself. Just take it as a learning experience. None of us thought of that but I could see it as easy to do when you are tired and running hard.

In Lebanon, Mo. for the night. Would have made it farther but first P/U took 3 hours. Got the Packers vs Seahawks game so I am happy.

Weird Preplan for me. I deliver in Ardmore, Ok. and I am supposed to pick up in lexington, Ne. That is one serious DH. Will love it if that is what they want me to do.

    Be safe out there

I dropped a trailer with TA twice, both after doing a good tug test. One was at a meat plant and it came down on the rails. Man!!!! Was that some work cranking up 43k lbs. @nd was coming out of TA and making a left, trailer kept going straight. Again I was lucky, saw what was happening, hit the brakes, and again caught it on the rails. *sighs* Some of us are slow learners.

You found a good spot here SJM! We all try to be help, just don't mind Cranky being... well... cranky. Just ribbing ya, Pete! You contribute a lot of help here too.

I can honestly say I've never dropped a trailer. I ALMOST did once, but it was still fully, but precariously, balanced on the fifth wheel. It was a great oh s*** moment and I snapped pics too. It was a 2013 trailer lol.

Jaso, speaking of leasing being inadvisable for new and inexperienced drivers (I agree.), as an upcoming recruiter, will you be at liberty to advise recruitees to be a company driver; or, will you be expected to push lease? I believe you will make a great recruiter. You often offer good advice and encouragement to fellow drivers on the thread. Best of luck to you on that.

Welcome to the thread, sjm. I'm not a truck driver, only married to one (gntorres). I am hoping to join him on the road, as a passenger, someday. I am caregiver to my mother, whose health is quite bad, and unable to do that just yet. Good luck with getting on the right track. You'll find folks are pretty nice and supportive on here....much like a family.

It's the school's discretion whether we can talk about the lease or not, we are supposed to ask. Not all schools want you to talk about it. I'm pleased to see the major bump in contractor school visit pay. Still on the fence if I want to make an effort for this contest or not.

Just a reminder about the National Brake Check starting on Sunday and running all of next week. From what I am seeing they may as well call it a full safety blitz. Last year they inspected 20,000 this year they are aiming for at least 30,000. In addition to that in the last two days I have seen a minimum of 6 states setting up portables.

Just saw a report that there was a second shooting .....

(KMOV.com) – Police said eastbound I-70 was shut down near Grand Avenue for several hours after a drive by shooting.

Police said a woman was driving eastbound on I-70 when another car pulled up along side her before someone inside the vehicle began to fire shots. Authorities said the woman then crashed her car. She died at the scene.
Police said a male victim was transported from the scene and is in critical condition.
    I-70 re-opened around 9:30 p.m.
