and the pay is?
-
Southeast Carriers is good, .37CPM and NO northeast.. which is wonderful in my mind.
Crete, .43CPM large company but the pay is well.
I'm in Tennessee as well, those were my choices I narrowed down to but eventually went to Crete.DocWatson Thanks this. -
Heard some good things about Crete actually. And yes no NE is definitely a wonderful thing lol

If you really wanna make boat loads of money, pension and all... get your endorsements and go with ABF, they are hiring in Memphis.
You'll see your home a whole lot more than in OTR, that's for sure.
It's LTL pulling doubles, don't have to worry much about backing but probably will do night driving.
If I lived in Memphis that's what I would do.
Screw this OTR BS, LTL gives the driver soo much more.DocWatson, Cody1984 and emerald079 Thank this. -
Might be something to think about later down the road, but for now the idea of doubles and triples intimidates me lol -
for what it's worth I came to Crete with 7 months experience and went in on their Reefer division.
Pays .44CPM all miles and practical miles, $30 extra stop pay and extra pay for dispatches under 200 miles.. which doesn't happen besides sometimes around home time.
Personal health Insurance is $25 a week taken out of your paycheck, it's $1000 deductible.
I'm on the 21 day fleet and take 4 days off at a time.
If I stay out a full week so far I'm right at averaging 2800 miles. Some weeks are 3000, some 2600.
I can't complain besides the cheap trucks here and me wanting to go out west more often.
But when it comes down to it.... pay is most important to me and that's why I'm here.
They do have home weekly jobs but that means you won't get the desirable runs because they have to get you home every week.
There no great OTR company anywhere, none of I've heard of.
There's BS where ever you choose to go.
For me, I can accept the BS more easily when I'm paid well lolDocWatson Thanks this. -
Definitely one ill be looking into. thanks hun, heading off for now though, need some sleep. thank all of yall for the info, hope you all have a good night
ill be back here tomorrow

Yes 3 days off in a row after 3 weeks out. You cant bank days and i think starting out is 32 cpm with her experience level. Penny a year raise every year. I get roughly 3500 miles per week solo without running east of ohio. Some weeks higher some lower just depends on my routes. I dont wait for my dm to route me loads talk to planners myself.
Im not really about payrate myself. Not like i have any bills otherthen cell phone and storage space so it all gets put into bank. I like not being micromanaged and pretty much left alone and as a company driver this is the least hands on place ive seen so far.
I did orientation at crete but told them i wasnt interested after the 2nd day in lincoln and found another job. Crete tries very hard to be like stevens and i left stevens after all. But to each there own if it works for you then cool.DocWatson Thanks this.
