YAY for the pay bump. from what IVe hard Its looking like Ill be getting around a 20% increase. (mileage pay only) Already making good money but more is always better right. Feel bad for the Arnold guys LOL. I think the cube dwellers made a mistake with the new pay scale though. They are paying more to Midwest and NE guys, That will only fly well if they are going to haul the lions share for the MW and NE loads. I know Ill be pissed if I find myself running NE on SE pay while some NE joker is running SE load at a higher rate just because of where he lives. IF they were going to do it right the pay would be associated with where the run is and not where the guy lives. but /meh

Our 2014 truck broke down a week ago and it would take longer than a week to fix so we were assigned a new truck. 2015 Cascadia automatic. It's pretty nice, drives like a car. This truck came with the Fast Trak toll for California. That'll come handy on the bridge near Hayward, CA.

Got a new one here too after I sat a week and a half broke down Grrr. It makes training pretty boring to be honest. No grinding gears, no worrying is this will be the road the transmission drops out on. The thing actually handles mountains pretty well too without having to go to manual. Yah its getting boring around here.

Good question. Seems you'd waste fuel and lose speed without the clutch downhill...

Its pretty easy in the mountains. not like the old autos. IF you use manual Id imagine you could have better control but in full auto I haven't had any issues other that it will downshift for you and tach it out to about 2400 RMP which Im used to being too high. Went down 77 in WV with 44k and my student didn't have any issues other than the regular white knuckling it due to inexperience.

Looked at my statement last night. 42 cpm just like I was told. Nice little bump. lets see if they can keep the miles up.

This pay scale change was a smart move. Everyone hated the sliding pay scale. Plus the ability to make 40 + cpm is going to attract a lot of good drivers.
