usually when someone starts to talk about that truck , first thing somebody mentions is problem with 12/24 v electrics, since cab is eu and chassis american

12 -24 v problem is not so difficult. If I tow EU trailer with US trucktor I swap bulbs. And I have 12 to 24 V voltage doubler for EU ABS/EBS

I know that Volvo had electrical problems with the 12/24v thing in Aus when they had cummins isx and signature's in there European models, not sure what something like the cummins didn't like being run at 24v, but it was a problem and now they don't offer it.
Also what's interesting is that Kenworth have changed the chassis to 24v for trucks that are powered by the Paccar mx13 instead of changing the engine to 12. The first trucks to be built at Bayswater that are 24v.

In ex-USSR drivers prefered 12V systems becouse to hold current wires are thicker and thiker wires are better for rought roads.

Now when roads go much better it is not so big problem.

24V systems got much less connection problems. Currents are lower and no bad contact-burning faults.

24V starters are more reliable too.

    A lot of cabovers :) .

From the convoy to the 2014 truck show outside Oslo Norway this week. Apparently close to 250 trucks in the convoy.

People say that european cabover age may be over in next 10 years, becouse new emission laws require bigger radiators, bigger engines, longer chassis for CNG ore for hybrid electrical systems and batteries, so I thiknk, conventional design will go back to Europe and may be future trucks will be more aerodynamicly efficient.

Pablo, that change is allready a certainty.
The Eu is set to adapt the lenght laws to allow short hoods.

i wonder if all cabs would be same with this deformation zone, or only for long haulage

i think this will be too ugly

i am trying to imagine how 4axle tipper would look like with short nose,

it would be cool if they can find inspiration in rundhaubers
