I posted something similar to this on the Facebook owner-op page right after I did here and it was removed within minutes. An hour later I got the nasty gram from the DL stating she will never commit me to another load again. Now I still need to find out if I'm allowed to turn down loads without her permission yet or if that part of my contract was voided when I was put on her fleet.

if your an O/O then you should not need permission to turn down a load, I would not stand for that if I was an O/O, stand your ground because in the end its your business not hers!
The tire guy showed up and put both tires on quicker than I have ever seen someone before even with a single replacement, I ended up being able to get back to the dc and drop my mt then bobtail down the road to shut down hitting 0 on the 14 clock after my post trip. No vegas loads are being kicked out this Saturday so im only going to North Hollywood and then Long Beach so will probably be done with my day in less than 8 hours then might go home for the night. -
At the J in Whacko, TX with a load of bottles to Colo. Snooozin time.

Yeah. Our pickup was out in the middle of small town Arkansas. I searched for the nearest scales while at the shipper. Our options were to run 65 miles SE to Louisiana, adding 140 miles to the trip; go NW to I-30 SW of Little Rock, adding 165 miles to the trip; or take the first available scales along our route up the backroads to I-40 toward Memphis.
Ultimately we got creative to get the load legal on the scales in order to be able to t-call it, on advise of my DM. We were barely over on the drives, carrying full chains, with a heavy tractor (T680). Whoever gets the load can manage it well with a Cascadia, running solo, without chains, and less than 1/2 tanks.
After t-calling the load yesterday we took another load, picking up in Memphis t-call to JIT in Virginia. However, it won't arrive until this afternoon. So we are chilling and waiting to get underway.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I spent a week on a fleet where I was not allowed to turn down loads. However when said fleet dumped me back in the 05 division (because they had no freight) and I turned down a load we had words. I quit that fleet the next day and stayed in the 05 division.

Did your creativity consist of having the student get off the truck along with your chains?

At home til Tuesday (at the earliest). I t-called a load yesterday and picked up the paperwork for outbound load while I was at it. Doesn't deliver in San Diego til Wednesday @ 1000. Since it's sitting at the yard I can hook up and do my loaded call whenever I please. Nice to have no stress concerning an outbound load and/or an MT.

jurupa valley terminal. tcalled the load. had a nice discussion with the guy at window. he wanted the original copy of scale tix. said i gave a copy of it. he then said he needed original due to d.o.t. i said bs,not a dot requirement. he then stated that driver needed original in case he gets pulled in for overweight. again i said bs, cat scale weight sheet is only for cat scale, if dot says it overweight, then cat scale will either pay the overweight tix or accompany you to court as a witness.told him dot scalehouses dont give a crap about the cat scale sheet. some guys are just clueless lol
scottied67 Thanks this. -
The chains stayed on the truck. Much more difficult to move.
