I want to install a teltek fuel restriction gauge on my caterpillar. Does anybody know if I can install it after my secondary fuel filter.or do I have to do it on my primary.

restriction gauge, plumb in the draw line after the primary filter. if you mean pressure gauge, you can plumb into one of the fittings on the secondary filter base.Wheeljack Thanks this.
-
Thanks...yes it's a restriction gauge...is there anyway to get a restriction reading from the secondary filter.
-
No, the secondary filter is after the fuel transfer pump so it's under pressure. You have to use a pressure gauge and watch for a drop in pressure.
-
secondary filter is on pressure side of pump so restriction is measured in PSI. what are you trying to figure out ?
-
Restriction will be in inches of mercury or inches of h2o. pressure would be psi. If you want to know the condition of the secondary you will need a pressure gauge. Depending on the configuration you may be able to plumb in two gauges, one before and one after this would allow a pressure drop across the filter reading. How ever most bases have a pressure regulator built in which would make the second gauge non relevant.

Just wanted to get restriction readings from both filters.that's all. Thanks

Do it like this, tap into the fuel line as it leaves the filter. The sender at the top of the filter head is where I get my fuel temp. You will like the TelTek
Not good pic. Top I have Time, Amps, Volts. Center is Fuel Temp, Fuel Restriction, Fuel Pressure. Bottom Air filter restriction, Weight, Outside/Vent temp. Then I have water temp on other side of dashAttached Files:
double yellow Thanks this. -

TelTek gauges are like Horse Power. slightly addictive.

And almost as expensive.wore out Thanks this.
