They probably got all your stuff on the ground at some truck stop drinking beer and grilling out.

Cranky, I moved my wife and myself from Long Island NY, to Houston Tx. Rented a 26' straight truck from penske, two flat bed auto transporters for two of my vehicles, plus my wife drove her car and my dad drove my pick -up with one auto transporter. We played all food, hotel and tolls. Total cost all said and done, around $4000. Didn't have to worry about my stuff being strong armed against me and if it was broken, I knew who did it. Dad broke it lol jk. Hope you get your stuff back and let the air out of a tire or two when they aren't looking, just for god measure.

If you are unhappy with that company you can report them to the FMCSA. I assure you they will not be happy with the outcome. Just google FMCSA complaints. Good luck.

Good luck crazy yankee. Moving and storage outfits have long been involved and associated with ghost charges, overcharging, hidden fee's, and other underhanded business practices.

1st post here. Just started in the industry in may. Hired on with a bed bugger on the freight side. More often than not they're not willing to pay movers on the drop off end. It can be downright horrible at times. Anyway. I figured for my next move I'm just going to get 6 or so guys from laboready for the minimum 4 hours. I'll send the ones I'd rather not deal with home after the 4 hours are up and pay the rest at or near what laboready charges for the rest of the move. I'll rent my own truck and buy my own boxes. I'll have my stuff when we get to the new address and save a couple grand. The workers will make about twice what they'd get paid otherwise too. What's not to like?

You might want to give some thought to the way you plan on dealing with the laborers, most of those temp services have a pretty heavy fee built into their contract for using their workers without them getting their cut. Insurance/workers comp is another issue to look at. You could end up paying a fortune to somebody for a back injury.

Yes I'm aware. Most of those guys will just be happy to earn a decent wage without being treated like an abandoned dog.
