Am getting oil in my fuel and mechanic said was bad fuel pump(gear driven)so replaced fuel pump and cleaned out fuel tanks but they appear to be dirty again. Anyone have any idea where it might be coming from. By way this is ISX engine. Sure someone on here might know.

There is a natural phenomena with ISX turning the fuel dark to almost black due to hot fuel under high pressure, then returning from the cylinder head. The fuel starts to soot up and form asphaltene.
-
Yup, what HeavyD said, all the ISX's we have do the same thing. Are you sure there is oil getting into the fuel? How much oil are you using?
-
Checked oil other day and appears to be down 1/2 gal over last week and half. I have owned this truck for 6plus years and never had this problem before. Curious if oil could be seeping by oring on injector.
-
I highly doubt it, there is no oil pressure there, just drain back oil. If an if an o-ring between oil and fuel was bad, fuel pressure would push it the other way and you'd have fuel in the oil.
-
Oil can leak down the plunger shaft of an injector and get into the return fuel that way, but this is a long slow process and usually accompanies rough running.

rather take n-14 than isx.
