We tarp grader blade cutting edges. The same ones they use to clear roads. Yes really.
We also get paid $75 to do so, and it takes an extra two minutes. $30 tarp from wal-mart and three bungees. The straps hold the rest.
Why do we tarp them? To keep the stickers on. Even though they're usually one part number going to a county. -
No I don't.

so what,,you are getting paid to tarp. Few years back I got a broker load from Landstar,,,2 landstar drivers before me would not tarp a load going from Camp Pendleton to Yuma,, no rain bright and sunny, load in the morning unload the same day,,Well Landstars cutomers sent 2 trucks away,,I got the load tarped it and earned $5600 for a 249 miles run,,tarping paid $300,,for the next 4 years I hauled the same load several times,,,2400 miles paid $24,000,, 750 miles paid $7500, I made a lot of money over a 4 year period moving these loads,,In 2009 I made $150,000 just with these loads,
Landstars customer a defense contractor told Landstar they never would load a landstar truck and they would only load me, if you don't like tarping then go back to a dry vanLast edited: Sep 7, 2014
Joetro Thanks this. -
Flat bedding means tarping...plain and simple. It doesn't always make sense and you don't have to like it. Just do it.
MidwestResident and SheepDog Thank this. -
I think you got all the answers you needed, and more than a few that you didn't, we'll go ahead and close this one.
