We were only licenced for 101,500 ir OR, for some reason. Everywhere else, we were 105. I was with LE Matchett and, later, Dupont/Conoco.

Yep. I've done that, too. I live in N Idaho. ;)
The secret is; keep it at a speed you can maintain with very little use of the brakes. You can come off a hill a million times too slow, you'll only come off too fast once.
I had a 1988 Intl with no jakes, dragging a step. That was fun at times. Worked out well in CA on Cajon. All the other trucks would fly past me coming off the hill. Neat thing is, the coops would be plugged up and closed by the time I sailed by. :D

    allniter Thanks this.

Oh, and when climbing, don't get right on the butt of the truck in front of you. If he misses a gear or, worse, drops a driveline, you won't be able to stop in time and will run right up his keester.

Still no jakes on my truck. Took it to 2 shops for a total of two weeks, but neither could get it done in that time or even give an eta. But at least I do have a fan switch override now -- it helps a bit, which is to say slightly better than sticking your head out the window and blowing real hard.
