5ek cam questions

    Getting head gasket done on 5ek in a 95 freightliner classic I bought. When the head came off we saw that a couple of lobes on the cam looked bad so now need a new cam, upgrade time! Open to suggestions want most bang for the buck. Thanks.

    Talk to Hillcrest Cams in Little Rock Ar. They have options, due to forum rules that I'm not sure about but do want to do right by I will let them explain what they have available.

    Most likely if you get a reman cam from Riggs CAT it comes from Hillcrest. They have 3 other options depending on what you want.

    Will call them in the morning, figured why go stock since the motor is already apart. And gas cans are sold as is no warranties.

    Not recommended on a a 5EK block. 5EK is limited for horsepower due to weaker block. From what I read on forums including here(at one time), on a 5EK block you dont want to go over much 750 I believe. I myself run a 5EK block with modified ECM. To the OP, google what your looking for and you will see other forums that will discuss what your trying to accomplish. You CAN"T discuss mod's on here anymore.....Goodluck
