Shoot I came to just making a clone of my drives evry major update/install I make set it up go to sleep done when I get up store the clone and bam no problems hard drive goes out put In clone and move on 5 min good as new but I setup with all the programs I know I will use my program data and personal files is transfered to my personal web cloud ran by me blocked to 99% of outside world nightly per a scheduled program plus the web site is mirrored to a second off site host.
Just bought a new laptop hope its not alot of code to change for the setup to work if so guess its back to 7.

Granted not as experienced as tex qbasic running on a 286 was my first computer experience I think I did finally trash my 386 2 yrs ago rom chip went bad and very hard to find one these days but it ran up till then with windows 3.1 and dos.
But favorite from those days was the 486 since it would run windows 95 and though dos I could play Wing Commander.

 

I loved that wing commander, specially with the right controller on my win 3.1. Pc lol

 

I personally prefer nod 32 for virus protection if I was to run one.
I do like scotty though let me know any registry changes.
A good hosts file works wonders.
But best protection is disaster preparation.
My windows 7 on the laptop at home running a media server and web server has been since before 7 was even release to general public. Not once have I had wipe it and till last year it was browsing the net for hours and hours everyday. Pay attention to what your opening mainly emails and web links but also programs you think you want to try check reviews on them before installing and watch for tag alongs as you install (as gunner or tex said before).

 

Yes me to I want a true remake that can play on any system past 98'.
I still have one of them around but I finally got rid of all pcs with less than a a amd 333 mhz or intel 800 mhz.

i was just reading that sprint has started their coverage expansion with joint operations from rural carriers.(supposed to have the biggest footprint when all is said and done) and they're offering no credit checks on certain phones and $60 unlimited for individuals. think i'm going to get my sprint note2 reactivated and see how it works out. save myself $100 from verizon with very limited services.

 

Verizon limited compared to sprint? Where you at? Me its AT&T all the way but I dont do north west much and carry a version prepaid just in case.

 

Sprint .. 3 phones .. $225.00 a month .. mid October completes my contract

 

Dang 5 phones on my contract but got it down to about 180 by having change the plan to the new family plan but was close to 300
