Many OTR companies have terminals here, dirt haulers are always hiring, but most of the locals are going to want local exp., 1 yr is normal, with 3 yrs overall exp.. Oh and if you're not willing to chain up or drive in the snow/ice, stay out. Saw an ad today in the online classifieds for a company: winter driving exp., chaining, mtn. exp. is mandatory, don't waste our time if you don't have 2 yrs exp. with each.

Never chained up but have driven in the snow a lot. Was driving from Front Royal to Maine and back twice a week and all over the US in snow storms but never had to chain up. It can't be hard. Short wheelbase trucks suck in the snow long wheelbase is where its at. The people that I've talked to in denver seem really nice
