We'll I'm not going to orientation but I did work for smith from 2008-2010. I was pretty happy there, and treated very well, home every weekend if I wanted. Left for a local gig though. Hope that helps and good luck!

thanks for the feedback. Ive been driving since late 05' and got lucky with a really long string of home daily jobs. However, at least in this area, that's kind of dried up. I looked around at a lot of companies and settled on Smith. Read a lot of reviews, checked out the website, talked to billie jo in recruiting. Everything I was looking for, they appear to have. Ill be home weekly, so hopefully the transition will be a smooth one. Luckily my wife is supportive and glad that well have some income lol. I have two small kids but I plan on using Skype every night and with being home on weekends, it shouldn't be too bad.
Being home daily, ill need a little help on the trip plan, I never really had to do one. In some ways I feel like a rookie. Im sure after a few weeks ill settle into the routine...

I am currently doing a local gig in Maine. The idea of going back to otr is something I am very interested in doing. Smith Transport is a front runner for companies that i would be willing to work for.

Keep us posted on your progress, that are pretty good people up there. I worked there briefly about 11 yrs ago. Only stuck around for 3 months but it wasn't their fault.

I had looked at them too, but just recently accepted a job with EPES that will have me home every night. I think if I ever get the itch to go back OTR, Smith might be my carrier of choice.
