Hey Lepton..I was heading east on 80 thru Iowa abot 3am this morning. You're not kidding..white knuckle rain and poorly marked interstate.

Dropped my my bottles at Miller in Milwaukee (avoid this place if possible, trust me). No mty trailers. Uh. Oh!!
planners sent me a locale for an mty. Wrong address, wrong town too. Typical!! Ran down the company on the internet and called em myself. They're 12 miles away. I get there and the trailers full of pallets! aarrrrgh!!
need the trailer to go get a Costco load out of Morris. My time is running out and no mty yet. Said to heck with this and am now at the T/A on IL/WI border on i94. I see a mac22 coming for the pickup. Better yet Ms. planner...just remove it. I'll get something else

Stop that. ... Just say "o/o load does not meet profitability objectives."

I LOVE that. I'm gonna use a variation of it on mac9 next time I get a short load.
"Load does not meet Company Driver income objectives"

I'll see how far that will fly ;-)

Sometimes I believe they are to big of words for the planners to understand.

Went to Pepsi in Fresno, CA getting a load from there and take it to tolleson, AZ get to Pepsi wrong pu number sigh ok msg dm, 45min get right number. Cool go back give them right number oh that load not ready was to be picked up tomorrow. Sigh ok msg dm tell them load not ready was scheduled for a 11th pick up. Got msg back hold on msg CSR. It's been 2 hours and no msg back. Just sent another msg and political correct said WTF does the CSR/planner want me to do. Guess it does not matter only have 3 hours left on 70

Well ... if they don't understand it, they can't argue with it.

With the new pay scale the shorter loads can be profitable.
.50+ per mile. And if they are drop/hook it's even quick, so you can get on to the next load.

I'm just sitting around at the TA today. I don't have a load until tomorrow afternoon.

This sort of new T/S at Exit 35 on I-40 in Arkansas. Ozark is the town, I think. Going to have to get a credit card out. They have a Boars Head Deli inside. I see some fresh meat and cheese in my near future. Looks like del around noon on Friday. I was thinking that I pick up 10 hours in morning. Nope. Only 6.5 and only 1 left today. This weekend will be interesting as far as getting some miles before home on Monday.

Sitting at home, picked up my daughter from school and we went to one of the apple farms and messed around for a bit then went to the ostrich ranch and let the kids feed them.

jenziedk ... here's a statement by Swift vis-à-vis o/o's ... emphasis mine ... tell your DM her job is to support you and get you loads ... not to try and manage your business and you. ... The statement is on the o/o web site as a response to a class action suit.

"Individuals enter into Owner/Operator agreements with Swift and equipment leases with IEL not only to obtain a vehicle, but also to purchase enhanced freedom and the opportunity to make their own independent business decisions"
