I brought my truck to LA Freightliner Fontana 11 days ago for a simple oil leak repair. I feel as though I entered the twilight zone. First I was told that the HEUI pump needed to be replaced and they were waiting on parts. After a day and a half I found out that it was their own parts dept located 50 yards away that they were waiting on. This took one and a half days. Two days later I get a late night call that I also had a oil line leak. I instructed them to only fix the pump, as I could replace the line myself. Next day go to pick up the truck and told that the leak was in the oil line which they replaced for $864. Paid this as I needed to get back to working.

Drove for 4 miles to my warehouse, same leak, same location, same rate of leaking. They tried to tell me that this was some new leak that magically just developed at the fuel pump end of the HEUI pump. Oh yea now the air compressor cut off dose not work!

Another $640 and 5 days later I pick up the truck, four miles later the truck stops running and there is about two gallons of oil puddling under the truck. I call the service manager and am told that they can't send a tow truck but for me to pay and I'll be reimbursed. After a $185 tow the same service manager says that they can't reimburse for towing but maybe he can deduct it from the bill. WTF there better not be another bill!

P.S.3.5 hours have past and I just received a call from the service manager asking if I had the keys to the truck...seems that they can't find them.

It seem that a Mr. Conan Barker is the President and co-owner of this dealership. Do you care at all about the lack of quality your dealerships provide, Mr. Barker? I'd love to hear your response.

I live close to the Fontucky Freightliner and I can't stand that place. Customer service is horrible and they act like they don't need your business. Parts department is a cluster muck and I usually will call in my order and pick up the parts from their after hours will call window.

You got bent over big time, unless your truck is covered Under Warranty, never take your truck to the Stealership, find yourself a good Independent Mechanic in the Fontuckey area and stick with them. If you need any names of some Reputable Shops in the area, let me know.

Thanks, I'd love to have any info you have on good shops in the area. You can PM me or just list them on this page so that others in the area don't make the mistake of entering this hell hole.

Quick up date. Went to pick up this morning (9:00). Talked to the guy working on it and he said it would be done in 20 mins. But when I check at 10:00 nothing was being done and there was still a bucket under the engine. Around noon I was told that the HEUI pump needed to be replaced. (I didn't say it in my first post but when I brought it in I'm the one that said it was the HEUI pump that was leaking). I asked to speak with the manager and after a two hour wait he finally came out. He seemed reasonable and understood my frustration. He also acknowledged that I said when I brought it in that it was the pump which was leaking. Well see if it's fixed in the morning and if they make right of the crap they put me through.

Do you know a good transmission mechanic in the Fontucky area? I have a 13 speed and my high gears slip out once in awhile. Took my truck to the dealer and they said I need a new clutch and trans. I agree on the clutch but I think replacing the entire trans is overkill. I got ripped off on the last clutch I had installed in Colton 3 years ago. Found a place for $1800 out the door and clutch brake goes out 45 days later and shop said clutch only has 30 day warranty.

Diesel Tec Services, 10641 Mulberry Ave, Suite A, Fontana, CA 92337 (909) 346-0400. Ask for Pierre. He's known by a lot of Drivers in the SoCal area and is more than fair and is very knowledgeable about all Makes and Models.
