A couple of hours away from t-calling a Memphis bound load in OKC. Got a preplan relocating us to Edwardsville, KS. Apparently this means there aren't any loads in OKC, but based on my last experience at Edwardsville I'm dubious whether we will get anything worthwhile over the weekend. Hopefully this will mean they actually have a load ready for us.

Doing a 10 at a rest area north of Bowling Green KY on I-65S. Got parked with 6 minutes left on my 14.
My live load at Home Depot in Cincinnati going to McCalla AL ended up being a D/H plus the JBHunt group had a driver appreciation BBQ going...chicken, brats, baked beans and desert. Accepted their invite to partake...wouldn't be polite to turn down free food so I scarfed down some brats. Pretty darn good. On the downside the load was much heavier than stated in dispatch. Swift said 30K, manifest said 38K but felt heavier. Pulled it across a CAT and it was 43.7K. Oh well.
While waiting to to pick this up I received a dispatch to relocate to Memphis terminal with the mty I'll pick up in AL. Crap!!! DM says they're overbooked with loads. Translation: there's a bunch of garbage loads sitting in the yard and they're sucking in company drivers to move them. Not real thrilled to get forced to go to the one terminal I loathe the most to do grunt work. I avoid Memphis like the plague...250 mile DH. Oh well. -
Local Love's. Pull in; have a guy pulling a reefer fueling in front of me. CRST pulled through in front of him. Another CRST pulls into the lane beside me. Guy in front of me finishes fueling his tractor; has to get within inches of the parked CRST in front of him in order to reach reefer tank. Meanwhile, the truck in front of the CRST beside me pulls forward; CRST cab is empty.
Ten minutes later, CRST beside me gets into cab with fast food bag, and pulls forward. About that time, CRST two trucks in front of me departs.
Not the first time I've seen such behavior from CRST at this fuel point. I've seen quite a few of their trucks here; they have a terminal nearby.
Not ragging on CRST specifically; I'm just pointing out that Swift isn't the only company with inconsiderate people. -
I find those inconsiderate drivers all the dang time these days, had one at the Loves in Barstow today who was inside doing whatever and 13min later he comes out and then decides to clean his windshield.
This was a night from hell, went to Vegas which went smooth and was supposed to be a sweep round trip but the trailer was mt so they decided to send me all the way to long beach and I was on track for 45min extra of drive time by the time I would get here but the last 100 miles is when it went to hell, almost 3 accidents including a car who swerved right towards me where I had to swerve onto the shoulder to not get hit and then a couple other close calls, then a major accident on the 15 making long delays, then another jam for lane closures and then I had an arsehole driver who kept slowing down in front of me and I tried to pass him a total of 6 times and every single time I was half passed he would speed up and pass me up again, once behind him he would slow down again....went on from the 210 all the way to the #### 605 and I finally passed him almost to the 405. I couldnt find a place to park so I ended up going past my 11 by 14min and went ahead and picked up the Yussen load then searched for parking on the street but all the 72 hr parking had no spot big enough to even parallel into, only spot I would of been able to was taken by a bobtail who decided to park with too much distance from the one in front of him so I parked in the 1hour spot and hope I dont get a parking ticket. -
I think a lot of those 'inconsiderate' drivers might be taking a 30 at a time of night that doesn't allow them to park properly.
It's very hard at night when all available parking is filled to the brim. -
The issue with the CRST guys happened at noon. The lot was a quarter full.
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Interesting load pu in Yuma, AZ going to Laredo via Oklahoma city. Have a drop and pick up in Oklahoma city and then going to Laredo. But t-calling in okc terminal home time coming soon..........bah they are ahole drivers no matter company or independent. Sad that people care more about self then thinking yea let me park in this open spot while I go to fast food place so next drivers behind me can go.

I do a lot of vampire work. Taking 30's in the fuel island in the wee hours is often part of the deal. However, if the fuel islands are full you go around if you've pulled through and are blocking someone from exiting. NEVER BLOCK ANOTHER DRIVER.Moosetek13 Thanks this.

At the Petro here in either New Paris, OH or Richmond, IN. What ever you would care to call it.
