As for me, I don't trust Celadon as far as I can throw them... I also understand business real well... Celadon has a well thought out reason for this purchase... They need us to function, and if we do, they will take care of us for a while... What they do once they figure out how all this works, they become established, and things become more routine; is another story... I expect it will take them at least six months to even get their operations together on this... They will more than likely run us as promised into next year... We simply dont know the actual terms of the sale, and what might happen if Celadon violates those terms... At the time that Celadon decides to shaft me, they will find themselves with a very empty truck... I have plenty of options in aerospace, other reefer, wind turbines, and oil exploration transport positions... I can go to North Dakota, and make a six figure income simply hauling frack water!!! So, it is up to Celadon how long I stick around... I was leased to Landstar Inway for a dozen years before my two and a half year tenure at FRE... I was with Roberson Corp (PFT) for 11 years prior to Landstar... I, like most of us, can pretty much go wherever I want if I leave Celadon... I decided to have a bite, taste the KoolAid so to speak... If the KoolAid sours, I'll move on!!! I am not blind in this, and most of the others who are here have a similar outlook on this deal... It is up to Celadon to make this work, and keep this going...

I have the same idea... If this goes south, it will likely happen after the new year... I might end up in Williston, ND next spring if things go south...

I was at Houg last year when Celadon bought it. I was local with overtime after 40 hours. It took about two months for Celadon to catch on and they stopped paying overtime because they didn't have to because they are an "interstate carrier". Nevermind that I didn't go out of state. I left about three months later because they expected me to work 60 hours a week at straight time. Total horsehocky! I came back OTR with Interstate Distributor (IDC) at .42 cpm (I drove for them a few years ago) and I'm so glad I did. I still get home weekly and I don't have to work for a company that is trying to completely take advantage of me. Try calling Celadon dispatch on the weekends. IF you get anyone to answer, they have no idea what is going on and they sound like a bunch of frat boys hopped up on caffeine. Just saying, good luck to those FRE drivers that are going to try it out with Celadon. I did and it only took a few months of the crap for me to run for the door!

I feel bad for u drivers at fre.when I drove for them it was great for me and I really enjoyed it.the problem fre had was it was poorly managed.failure starts with leadership and theirs was the worst I have seen anywhere.when I left I was angry because I thought we had something special there.the drivers were fun and we seemed like family.but then they started hireing managers that had no clue and lied to the drivers like a used car salesman.now they are throwing the drivers who were faithful and worked hard for them out with the bath water...don't believe they are taking care of u because that is not in their interest.hope everything works out for all the drivers and they are happy where ever they land.

sitting here in the orientation room at celadon on their computer right now. some things have been true, others, not so much. in the words of another of our drivers, SOLD LIKE CATTLE.

On the up-side, everyone here is as nice as can be. The food is free and is decent enough to outrank other companies cafe. Orientation is laid back. Sorry, gotta go. class is starting back up.

Well well well. I can't say this suprises me, I saw it coming 2 years ago! Me and a few other tried to tell everyone that they were on their way out because of incompetance and mis management, mainly Mark, and those two idiots they fired in Omaha that were having a sleazy affair .Celadon bought a pig in a poke. And as far as gaining accounts, they were already in the places that FRE was pulling out of anyway. All they gained was some crappy trailers, and some uncompliant trucks, and more of the same freight they were pulling.I feel sorry for you guys that you will have to find other jobs, but if you kept your nose clean, and are healthy you are very marketable in this day and age.I say good riddence to bad rubbish!!!!!!!!!!!.Also I think FRE is involved in some kind of lawsuit that they are going to have to pay out on. All ex-FRE driver should sue them for causing colon cancer because all the smoke they were blowing up our rears for years :). Oh one last thing TOLD YOU SO,TOLD YOU SO, TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!mEWWWAHHH
