Made it back home from Baltimore with no further problems. The guy that hired me to do the trailer move met me at the drop yard. He lives nearby and happened to be at a freezer around the corner handling something else, so opted to drop by when he heard I was 30 minutes out.

The look on his face when he laid eyes on that trailer said it all. I've worn that look myself a time or three before and it's not cool. Kind of a toss up between that moment before you stroke out from anger and deep disappointment in people you trusted were doing a better job. He mentioned that he and the owner he works for are headed to Baltimore this week to deal with it. I don't envy them one bit. In fact, I felt a little bit good that it wasn't me having to do that this time LOL.

The bright spot in this is, he knows I had more than one opportunity to take advantage on this deal and have not. He also knows I could have gotten stupid and let the TA shop bill out 2-3X what they did, had I not stood over their shoulder to make sure they did the bare minimum to get the thing safe without doing repairs or parts inappropriate for equipment that was making it's final trip. I'm not even going to bill for a layover at that shop. No harm was done and I didn't lose any business due to that. Besides, I needed a little rest anyway.

People wonder how to get good paying freight out of a notoriously lean area like western PA? You develop it with good service and integrity.
