    I don't have an accountant, although I do have a daughter that has her Master's in accounting,,I don't use her. I use Profit Gauges,,,go ahead and slam me, I don't care.. Anyway back to subject, I do my own accounting, not that dang hard. The taxes aren't hard either, I just hear so many different ways to do them, and I just want to do it the right way and the way that profits me more than the IRS. It sounds like you really have a handle on the way to do it and you do it yourself so,,,pm me...lol

    Not going to slam someone for using Profit Gauges ... I've got years of doing analysis on excel and do my own record keeping .... but forgoing that background, you have to use something and Profit Gauges is more than adequate.

    Once you have all the numbers it's just a matter of loading them into a good tax software. I've used both Turbo Tax and Tax Cut. Both will walk you through and it's just plug and play as long as you have the numbers.

    I do apologize, honestly... I could give you a dozen excuses why I don't get on here every night and give an up date but, I won't. In the end, it is just me not getting it done. For the last couple of weeks I have been doing pretty good. The End of Week 09/08 were as follows; Total Miles = 1982 Total Revenue = $4650.00 which works out to $2.35 RPM Now that is To The Truck My settlement for that weekly totals works out like this. $3,942.35 paid to me for the 5 loads I hauled. Out of that comes; $1,122.03 for Toll's, Fuel, and Maint Escrow account. Also; $1,137.90 for Truck payment, trailer rental, Ins, HVUT and elogs app. So, that gave me $1,682.42 before taxes.

    End of last week;
    Total Miles = 2446
    Total Revenue = $5372.60
    $2.20RPM

    I made $4533.60
    Minus; $2,152.28 for fuel, Maint Escrow, and toll's
    Minus; $1,137.90 for Truck payment, trailer rental, HVUT, Pre Pass and elogs app

    My check before taxes was $1,29362

    I realize I am not making much more than a company driver but, I am paying off a truck and shortly will be using that trailer rental payment as a trailer buy payment. IF things continue the way they are, I will be happy and IF the truck doesn't fall on its face, I will be happy doing what I am until the truck is paid off, in 2.5 years. At which time the trailer I will be buying will be paid off as well.

    Don't apologize ... ultimately this site is for entertainment and maybe some education ... but what's not is a second job.

    But, thanks for the info.

    Brilliant.Please tell that to the many members who take themselves waaaay to serious.Or maybe they just think their more important than they really are.Meh.Who cares. :biggrin_255:

    Speaking for myself though- when Sheepdog disappears for awhile...I think the worst..and hope for him success. If going online here interferes with that O.P for the love of Gawd keep-on doin-what you're-doin but: If you do have any extra time,appreciate the updates!! :biggrin_255:
