Why did you travel in the HOV lane.. High Occupancy Lane or Car Pool Lane.. obviously that is a No Truck Lane..

Any moving violation goes on your record,, Where were you ,,what road,,
No matter what your company tells you ,,you are still the "Captain of your Ship,,it is your responsibility to operate the truck you are driving in accordance with all laws and regulations, Remember they only reason your dispatcher is a dispatcher is because he is too stupid be drive a truck,,from now on plan your route better.

I had overheard a guy say he got a $1800. Fine once for being off of a truck route .

Is that possible or was he pulling someones leg ?

It could be possible. Lets say he or she is on a road restricted to 10 tons gross, and you re grossing 79,000. DOT could weigh him and charge him for every ton over the gross weight limit for that road.

    joseph1135 and tangerineGT Thank this.

Well with local cops it can go a few ways:

1a. IF you pay the ticket, it may be never heard about again, the city got its money.
    b. Pay the ticket, and if you go 60-90 days without getting another one, it won t go on your record
    2. IF you fight the ticket, at least you have a 50/50 chance of getting it thrown out. The best thing you can do is hope the local attorney is good friends with the judge, and have the ticket dismissed or just pay the ticket and won t go on your record. I m speaking from experience

Fight the ticket to get it reduce but more important dismiss and pay the court cost. if dismiss it will not show up on your report had a violation in 2012 for driving in a restricted lane in sc , fought it and got it dismiss. Gl

Research the local restriction on that road. Hire a local attorney to fight it, if there is any possibility of you being in the right. I would if it goes on my MVR. Also if the cop doesn't show the court date it will get thrown out.
I once had a running a red light ticket changed in court to a ticket of not having my drivers license on me. No points but it cost me $100 more. Worth every penny.
I also had a permit violation by the DOT in Oregon. Because I showed up the day of court my fine was reduced by $200. It was $515 and they gave me 3 months to pay it. Yep in December. They just want the money. Good luck.
