Well the gps did route me down that road but the gps did not drive the truck down that road I did. "The gps told me to " is never a valid excuse in my book. I am responsible for where the truck goes and it really bothers the ###### out of me when people blame the gps.

Just like I do with any route I am unfamiliar (that is not a major highway)with. I used the gps as a tool to help me decide and plan the best route then checked the unfamiliar roads against my R&M truckers atlas. Not really sure I need to do that since the gps is a
R&M but would rather be safe than sorry.

I did see the signs as I was turning down the road but I was already 3/4 thru the turn and it would never even cross my mind to swerve back out on a road once I am 3/4 into a turn

Typical small town NY BS, I have been railroaded in a couple NY small town courts, the judge is the brother of the cop who is the uncle of the DA and your attorney is married to the sister of the cop. Last ticket I got in NY was same thing, turn down a road to find out that even though its listed as a STAA route, there are no truck signs that you can't see till after you turn, cop sits there are writes tickets all day. went to court and met with the DA, pled to a parking ticket, didn't argue with the judge and was out of there for $100. The other 6 drivers there argued with the judge about it being crap and were all charged $200. Welcome to NY.

Figured I would post an update since I always see posts just kind of die and we never hear the outcome.

My court date was this past week. I didn't attend had my lawyer handle it. It ended up getting reduced to a non moving violationviolation of NY Vehicle & Traffic Law 1210(a), which translates as leaving a vehicle unattended while running. It is a miscellaneous infraction, similar to a parking infraction. Does not earn me any points. In the end to keep my driving record clean it cost me 393.00 lawyer fees, court cost and the 100.00 ticket

I still think it was a total scam. I would of loved to try and fight it to win. But took my lawyers advice to just try and get it reduced to a non moving violation. My main goal was to keep my record clean so I am happy enough with that

You are a piece of work man! Is there anything you haven't done? How's that strike coming? How about all the trucks you are buying? Now a lawyer? Haha

Some of those roads now with blacktop of older communities are meant for horse and wagon

My father thinks all of this is pretty comical he drove a truck from 1971-84 and he doesn't look at tickets as big deal. I guess back then It didn't effect your future employment opportunities as much as it does today.
