    Exactly.
Non truck route is nothing unless the road specifically has truck or weight restrictions. I travel on non truck routes all the time.

Maybe I'm a bit jaded,.. but the way I'm seeing it, he was in an HOV lane, perhaps to pass slower traffic, got pulled over and now is worried about the consequences.

    First:

Never be upset when you get caught doing something wrong. I preach this all the time. I cook my books on a daily basis in order to run how I like to run. If DOT can prove I was somewhere I say I wasnt,.. I cant be upset that I got caught. Its what I like to refer to as part of doing business.

    Second:

    ALWAYS,..

I repeat,.. ALWAYS,.. fight any and all tickets. Your record is your livelihood. Hire an attorney in what ever town or city this was. Have him go to court for you and make sure it doesnt get on your record.

I speed. 5 - 10 over all the time. Most of the time I'm pretty good at finding someone to pace and let them ride in what I like to refer to as the ejection seat. Soon as I see them hitting brakes, I know there is Po Po or they got nervous and thought they saw Po Po. Either way I'm slowing down before I get to that point. But Troopers are pretty resourceful buggers, I got caught twice, once he was on an over pass and got me before I saw him. The other was on the merge ramp on the other side of the bridge. Both times I paid an attorney to make it go away. Costly? Yes of course. But my driving record is clean and I intend to keep it that way. It would have cost me much more if I had to pay the insurance premiums involved with speeding tickets.

Good thing that didn't happen here in VA! Here it's 3+ people to use HOV so no excuses there, but they smack you with $1000.00 fine and 10 points on the ol' license! Honestly, it's probably not going to hurt you in the long run, I know here in VA most people use the HOV to get into DC everyday and it's VERY believable that a truck gets trapped and cars won't let you out of the lane that lands you in the HOV. But a lot depends on the company that's looking at your driving record and of course the actual wording of the offence. You may want to look into legal shield in the future. You pay monthly and they'll send lawyers to court for you and it's part of the service. The thing I like is their set up specifically for commercial drivers. I think it varies between $30-$50 a month depending on the level you get. They talked to us in school and it really doesn't seem like a bad idea, especially seeing how temperamental companies can be over driving offences and how bad thing can get for a driving when the go bad. I'm a local driver but even still, i'm strongly considering it. All I gotta do it hit something or get into an accident and no doubt the lawsuits would begin. I'm sure my company would fight hard for themselves but who knows how hard for me!

I do that too. I avoid weigh stations when I have to get a load delivered and I picked up 2500 lbs of ice under my trailer putting me over gross. Yep,.. I do that too. I'm such an awful person. Speed limit 65, and I run 70. Such a travesty. Save it pops, I run what the road conditions allow. I sleep when I like to sleep and I drive when I like to drive. The current HOS do not allow me the freedom to do that in a legal manner, so I sleep when I want to sleep. And I drive when want to drive.

Its good that you can sit there and judge me. How ever,.. my record is clean as a nuns corset.

You should update your profile, student is misleading. As a student you would not be driving by yourself.

Its like taking the express lane in chicago that says " no trucks " and then go and figjt it.

I mean , you wernt supposed to be there , but yet I see guys do it all the time.
To each is own , but if a sign says " no trucks " it means no truck . Unless it says except local deliveries .
    Then its legit.
