Welp made it through Orientation, Only took a week, when they re-ran my Dac and MVR stuff they forgot to order a Cali MVR only took 4 extra days to get ugh

Left Indy last Tuesday with a load from Con Agra Indy to Americold Atlanta Ga Delivered that load then got dispatched to Birmingham AL yesterday to repower another load going to Americold Atlanta and now sitting here at the Petro in Atlanta waiting for the next load.

also sitting here now waiting for a call back from Celadon Payroll to see where my first check (orientation pay) is nothing on my comdata card and nothing show up at the bank this morning.
even tho i have seen the settlement sheet saying that I got it. So far 4.5 days on the road for Celadon and only 817 miles so far. :biggrin_25510:

So far while in Orientation one hiccup occured over the pets deal. Seemed Celadon was only going to allow to pets under 50 lbs. when this occurred had about about 5 FRE drivers ready to pack there stuff and leave. But they quickly changed there minds and Safety decided to review pets on a case by case basis allowing dogs over 50 lbs but no aggressive breeds.

and in talking to a couple other FRE drivers that i am keeping in contact with there about in the same boat right now too. Seems from what i have heard and seen they putting all of us FRE drivers on a new separate board and supposed to be getting dispatched from Omaha until the merger is complete. This process is slower than i imagined. And do not see this happening to the other Temp Control Drivers either.

Hopefully things get going in the right direction soon here.

I left thursday, and have racked up about 1700 miles... A great big problem is the shorting of miles... In 1703 miles I actually drove, FRE would have paid for 1774 while Celadon is willing to pay for about 1492 of them!!! This looks like a 10% pay hit... I recieved a KW that actually runs 65mph on cruise, and the only real issue centers around a governing feature that will limit the use of lower gears... This will be turned off, or I will not drive it on winter roads, as this will become a safety hazard... The office people are real friendly... My first load was dispatched to me about six hours after the pickup appointment!!! The second load was a drop and hook that included a damaged trailer... I never made the delivery, so they swapped me out for a third load... The KW got 7.2 mpg calculated from fueling info... Nice truck, although a bit smaller than the FRE one I had...

Yeah looks like i am ending my First pay period with a hair over 2100 miles. (Celadon dispatched miles) Just completed a load from Claremont NC to Laredo TX today. now waiting for a load back northbound.

might as well get used to the short miles since Celadon is like a lot of big companies and use the Rand Mcnally HHG to figure miles. the other day i was in Atlanta GA dropping my first load. There were no mts there so they empty moved me to the Conley GA drop yard for one, 23 mile trip in the real world but only got paid for 8 miles lol

I am averaging 7.4 MPG talk to a few of the other Drivers that were with us in Orientation and there averaging about the same.

I am with you on the Progressive shift software being enabled. it needs to go and it is present in all gears tho not just the lower gears.I found this out the hard way.

Cybergasm; They will need to adjust my pay, or this will likely be a deal killer... We were supposed to be income neutral on this... Furthermore, I was routed 981 miles, but they want to pay for only 905 of those miles... This is theft in my book (involentary servitude)... I don't have a problem with progressive shifting, but if I leave the tranny in a certain gear, I likely have a reason for doing so... On ice, this will be a safety threat... My 7.2 might have something to do with bucking a strong headwind for a number of miles with a heavy load of paper... I was impressed with the numbers at any rate... I have a shot at $1150 GUARANTEED a week hauling aerospace mostly utilizing the Conestoga tarp system out of my home area!!! I have hazmat, and oversize experience... Pulling a flat, step, or double drop would not be a big problem for me... I would get home often; I live about 50 miles from the aircraft factories...

who ever said barney was watching out for u guys?Mark worked his tail off for FRE,did three peoples jobs and he left with nothing.FRE didn't even offer him something in the warehouse.hows that for takeing care of someone.FRE closed because of management.there is a trucking company out of texas that started the same time as FRE and they now have 200 trucks and pay their drivers 47 cents per mile...oh well u all have new kw,s that barney never spent one dime on.i wish I had something better to say but it is what it is

All of the office personnel were done this way... I am not sure how well we were actually taken care of vs Celadon wanting to have enough familiar faces around to keep the contracts happy...

Mark sucked too...just sayin' if he was an effective manager he would have dealt with the problems, but no he blamed the drivers for everything, talk to most ex-FRE drivers and Marks name will always come up and not in a good way.He needed to deal with the situation in Omaha, and he waited too late and it ran the company into the ground. They had a poor business model and it lead to their demise, but we all ahve moved on to bigger and better things as we do in this industry.

You do realize that Mark was in charge of SAFETY and COMPLIANCE with a sprinkling of BOOK KEEPING (attempting to clean up Ruby's disaster) right? Just checking. The Omaha disaster was squarely on Bill's shoulders, and he failed miserably. As an outsider looking in I would have to say Mark did a pretty decent job, taking into account what he did and didn't have authority to do and how ham strung him and Scott were by Bill. Just sayin...

Mark was scheduling loads with the shippers as well, he wore way too many hats... I got along with Mark quite well... But yes, Mark was overwealmed... Management was quite understaffed...

u cant put it any better than that.i said for months before I left bill is ruining a good thing and then he brought scott in.the first thing he did was look on the internet and pulled up on how to run a trucking company.i guess he pulled up the wrong site.i did like tim and candy the other load planners they kept me happy or I would have left long before I did.new Albany was great also.i guess that leaves Denver as the only one that stunk it up
