    2 things -

1 - learn how to route yourself. do not trust a company's directions. Talk to the receiver if you can and get routing from them or ideas.

2 - pay the ticket and forget about it. YOU can call about the points but if there is no points then no worries. YOU will get more in the future and this is the least worrisome ticket you can get so pay it and move on. ALSO just to mention this - it will cost you more to fight it than it is worth. The reason why they tapped you with $212 is there is a chance you won't contest is and they can collect the money.

shouldnt that route show on that states restricted list? Check that first. then ask if your company is willing to pay it( I know guys I know) they did after all direct you that routing. If you use a qualcomm type truck routing device , there should be a means to send in corrections. do it to help the next guy.

also, he wrote you an HOV violation? if there are no HOV lanes there then I would fight it too.

It would apeer the cop didnt know what to hit him with so he defaulted on hov trucks are alowed with enough people, there is a diferance between no trucks, not a truck route and restricted weight roads. Dont come here looking for legal advidce , opinions sure but everything legal is case by case state by state exc.exc. make a few calls do a little research and decide for yourself if you can fight it.

I would just pay it if its a no-points ticket. Unless you have some reason to believe it's a BS ticket that should be thrown out of course.

What is the address from point A to B, what route did qualcomm have on it. STAA are I believe being dictated in CA and IL has restrictions of how far you can travel off the beaten roads. Areas one week you may be able to driver through and 2 weeks later no trucks allowed.

Bridge issues are getting to be a major problem as more and more are being found. In going to Albion, NY the other day, the one major road, Hwy 98 up from I-98 had a bridge restriction of 12 tons, it was supposed to be under repair. He went up to Medina, on 63/77 then 104 across. Luckily company had sent the notice that 98 was closed for truck traffic.

Unknown to a lot of drivers, most if not all states have restrictions on some roads that dictate no trailers that are over 48 ft long and 96 inches wide. In Michigan 53 ft 102 wide are not allowed on what we call a class B road. Some exception but not many. When I hauled cars we used 75 ft stingers and we were very restricted. Eleven axle gravel trains could use roads we could not. Go figure.

Something fishy going on here. I highly doubt that little country town has a HOV lane within 30 miles of it.

And the HOV lane code you posted says

    (d) A violation of any provision of this section is a Class C misdemeanor, subject only to imposition of a fine, not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00), and court costs, not to exceed ten dollars ($10.00), including, but not limited to, any statutory fees of officers. No state or local litigation taxes shall be applicable to a case prosecuted under this section.

Don't listen to these fools who say pay it. Fight them all!
This one is easy. Don't even need a lawyer. Just do some research yourself. Don't miss your court date!
Imagine how proud you'll be walking out of that courtroom after the judge tosses that bogus ticket. Been there done that, it's a great feeling.
