Wow. You sound like me. Retired fed, previous career in aviation, now seeing the country through a windshield. It's the only thing I care to do in retirement, too. When I'm "done" with trucking, I'll be "done" with work. 3-4 more years, probably...about the time I was originally planning my retirement from fed work, but it just became too much, um, let's call it 'fun,' so I left early.

Yep... pretty much the same here. Got tired of financial idjits calling the design decisions based on penny pinchin' and whether or not the bottom line was going to help out their stock options... and then wouldn't take the heat when stuff didn't work.

So I literally just applied to prime after applying to central refrigerated just to see what would happen. I think I've changed my mind about flatbed though I'm leaning more towards refer. So prime is my first choice, as I've heard they give you an advance on your pay if you need.. I will ask the recruiter when her/she calls me, I'd assume in about am hour or so
-
$200 per week advance prior to getting your CDL. Then pay of $700 per week or 14 cents per mile whichever is greater.
-
While training? Geez central said $400 a week which is want I make now

So I heard back from tammy, my recruiter and I gotta call her back tomorrow to confirm this is what I want to do and them I gotta wait to get my college transcripts from the college the 5th of January to confirm I was doing something during the last 3 years then I'm assuming I'll start the following Monday at least I hope so

So my recruiter (tammy) is doing orientation this week. So I got switch to Stephanie and it is nearly impossible to get her on the phone. I just need a dang fax number geez.
-
Anyone in recruiting should be able to help you with a FAX number. Just be prepared to camp out on hold until you get someone... they're slammed. And while you're at it, get a email address. That's a much more reliable way to get in touch with your recruiter.
-
Hmmm...I see people using an unfamiliar term.
What, pray tell, is this "fax?" 😑Chucktshoes Thanks this.
