He will most likely ignore this thread. If he answers he will blame it on a branch in the way of a sign or something about small town speed traps or something like that. There have been a few versions to the story thrown out by him.

Did you go to traffic school to keep it off your record?

I run trucks for TMC but I hire my own drivers for my trucks. (mods, im not recruiting, my seats are full, he asked) Yes I was canned from LS for speeding.....I know first hand how hard it is to get on with a decent company after a ticket. Yes, its less important after 3 years, but who wants to work for USX, Prime, swift, werner etc for their whole career. The best drivers get a job with a better company and those jobs are only available to the best drivers. The only reason i got back in with TMC was because I previously worked their as a company driver. My ticket was only for 5 over and it was tough finding a decent company. Yes it was withing 3 years, but even after it follows you around. IMO, 600 bucks to clean your record a bit is totaly worth it.

down hill, changing speed signs with last one covered by a bush.....45 was clear, the last drop to 35 wasn't. I dont think i have told any other versions. it was a speed trap...there were 4 trucks pulled over by the time i was done getting my ticket. Im not saying the OP is an idiot to get a ticket. I know first and stuff happens. That being said, i highly recommend he take steps to keep the record clean.

Yea, it all worked out, but my ticket certainly didn't help. I worked 3 months of hell with arnold trans because they were the only ones who would accept me right after the ticket.

You can smell the ol' small town set up. It's kind of like Murphys law.

No I was only in the USA for 2 weeks at that time and then came back to Korea. Paid my ticket online and never even considered it to be a problem , maybe my insurance might go up.

Started thinking about moving back to the USA and driving a truck and seen something about clean driving record and thought well I am okay there but didn't realize that speeding ticket was such a big deal. Live and learn :)

Just because your state record is clean doesn't mean your other reports are. Employers look at Dac, PIP, CSA and several other reports depending on the company. Even if you can purge you state record, its not clean.

    I don't have a CDL yet so I don't think I have a DAC, PIP , CSA or EIEIO ;)

I have an old speeding ticket 10 over and seatbelt violation both 25 yrs old. If I can get the speeding ticket reduced I should be ok.
