I just completed CDl school in KY and I am thinking of going with TMC. I have two question. Do they have a dress code? I have long hair and a long beard and I will not cut it. Also would I have to go to New York or Jersey alot? I was stationed in Jersey in the Navy and hate that place and dont really want to go back if I don't have to.
new york?

TMC runs heavy around the northeast. They have sheetrock account just north of NYC, up in Buchanan and run ALOT of Shingles out of Jersey etc, so if you sign on with them you will be in these areas.

TMC does have a dress/appearance code. You will have to cut your hair to collar length and neatly trim your beard. Please call recruiting for exact details, I do not want to mislead you.

well since were on TMC , do they have a local yard near NYC? i was coming down 95 just above the city and seen a day cab TMC heading north

You will have to dress in black and wear alot of chrome. Like belt buckles, chains, boots with chrome, wristwatches in chrome and not only that but you have to polish them every couple of days.
I might be wrong on that, but what Ive heard is they are not bad to work for as far as companies go.NukedNative Thanks this. -
I heard they have one in Jersey and I know they have one north of NYC in Buchanan for the sheetrock gig they have. You will see a couple of their daycabs around the area too. I saw one yesterday afternoon, northbound on 87, just south of Newburgh.

There are some daycabs assigned to run local out of Owens Corning in New Jersey.
There are also some daycabs at my home depot dedicated division in Norwood Ma and we cover eastern MA, RI, VT, NH, and ME.
My trainer lived in KY and he did not get up into the northeast much. He just let his FM know that he preferred to run south and midwest. During my six weeks of training we did not get any farther into the northeast than Frederick MD.
