3 hours and 15 minutes to go with the 4 and half hours at the receiver on the load ... actually I don't mind waiting and getting detention ... making $$$ without using my 70,

Back to back Walmarts ... drop in TN and live load down the road to go to DE.

    Inver Grove terminal.
Got back from home time today at noon and I got a 10 mile load for a live unload that took several hours.

Since I waited all day to deliver it (1930 apt) I set my PTA for tomorrow morning. Hopefully something better will come my way that can get me back to PA in the near future.

While on home time I installed a new hard drive in my laptop.
    It's the WD Black2, a dual drive consisting of a 128GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive.
    Very sweet.
With the OS on the SSD it takes 32 seconds from the time I turn it on until the desktop appears in Windows 7.

I'm the opposite. I HATE sitting around while they take 4 hours to do the same job any Costco forklift driver can do in 45 minutes. If detention were 100% dead bang guaranteed them maybe I'd be OK with it. As it is Swift seems to find almost any reason to deny it and of course never tells you.

Then there's the whole "I'm gonna be late for my next load, run out of time at the receiver, etc" that happens almost every time I spend more than 2 hours getting unloaded.

On a positive note, I absolutely LOVE IT when some shipper takes 4 hours to load me because they THINK I was late arriving and I end up getting paid detention.

Rocky Mount, NC behind the smaller shops at a Walmart in a strip mall. Quiet place with no other trucks around and should be a good night without anybody idling. Nothing but woods behind here. Delivering tomorrow with two stops in NC that I pulled from a drop yard in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Heavy load through rain, hills, and heavy traffic. Not a bad day and looking forward to what comes tomorrow.

My second trainee is delivering his first load tomorrow. I've put in for home time, so hope to get some long runs back to Jurupa Valley running on recaps. I did a Mac-30 but only came up with a 200 mile run to SC. Let that one expire.

Tomah, WI at one of my favorites when up here. Kwik Trip. Lepton, when doing a MAC 30 if there is nothing that you like then just do a MAC 31 and put 0 in the spot. It cancels right away.

    Lepton1 and HousTank Thank this.

You can also hit Mac30 as often as you want without waiting the hour. I've gotten loads 15 minutes after the no loads available message.

Finished the buyout process yesterday morning in Phoenix and picked up a 40k load of hay in Chandler going to West Palm Beach, FL from Command. Had the truck detailed out real nice at Danny's. Today just a few miles east of the Border Patrol checkpoint east of El Paso a pos CA Freightliner cratered the engine just as I got to his trailer passing. What looked like a cloud of black smoke was a cloud of oil spray. Truck's a mess and the heavy rain a few miles later made it worse.

Fort Stockton at the Stripes and stopping in San Antonio tomorrow to see if Blue Streakin can get some of the oil off.

At the house taking a 15 hr break.

Got my hazmat to final in La Porte expecting a live unload. Customer said they had an mty they wanted taken out and to put my load in a dock. Grabbed the mty and rolled. Had a load to take for a tcall in Memphis from Channelview but they pushed the p/u time to Sunday. Had it removed and promptly got an 1100 miler to Ft Wayne IN. Leaving in the morning. Have hometime set for Wednesday in south AL so I'm expecting something going that way next..hopefully.
