ok, so i bought a truck a long ways away and need to get it home. I got it insured and will get a temp plate good for 30 days. now if im driving it basically as a personal vehicle doe any know if i need to stop at scales, log hours, or any of that??

When I buy a new truck, I get a temp tag from the dealer put on the vehicle, have proof of insurance,proof of sale, scratch a few lines on a log book, go through the scales as directed by signs, and head for home. Never had any problems.

stop at the scales you are still a commercial vehicle subject to all the rules,,,don't worry they will not bite until you get a name on the door and a DOT number
