yeah I just ran my numbers and if I switch over to the new pay I would actually be giving swift more of my money. my dead head miles never go over 150 but that's because I know where not to take freight.

Bisqueak, I was told if you do a new lease then you still have the option to remain on the pay you choose...whether they stay true to this or not...who knows? The loyalty pay is also on that last page of the new pay rate package...gives you the actual by yrs of service...Swift has lost quite a bit of o/o and o/o mentors over this thing...It seems most have went or are going to schneider or JCT....There is also lots of differences between us and central owner ops...They get benefits we dont...such as breakdown pay @ $150 per day for all days beyond the first day....They also have the option to trade in their trucks for a new lease when it gets between 350k miles and 500k miles if they choose to....There is a lot of things going on in which we get the shaft...As far as myself, I will not be taking this new pay rate...My empty miles are usually under 60 miles...I may get 1 load out of 10 where i have 100 miles or more empty but usually have very little empty miles so this new pay would only cost me money...

My cousin's husband pulls flatbed for Prime. When we caught up at the Pilot in Sulphur Springs, TX a few weeks ago I paid $3.74 for fuel. Prime passes the huge discount on to their owner-ops, he paid $3.24. Swift screws us every way they can. How do they expect to attract and/or retain best in class owner operators if they don't want to offer a best in class compensation package?
