Love my apu. Left the sucker running a/c full blast on home time once, fuel gauge didn't even budge.
-
Actually I asked 2 questions, so which one are you referring to?
-
I agree. If you spend $30 on fuel for 10 hr idling, then $10 on shower that almost pays for a room. I can find a 3 star hotel for $40-50 + tax, fees on Priceline, I'm just not sure about parking. Not to mention the money you save on a day cab vs sleeper.
Can you only stay at certain hotels/motels due to parking? -
If your a just starting out broke owner op a mr heater portable buddy used about 1 pound of propane in 10 hours on low, just crack the window for a little breeze and it’s just like camping.
Thouren Thanks this. -
No heat and no air when engine is off unless you have APU that provides hotel support.
Main engine you can idle three days and nights roughly in total on 345 gallons full. About 80 hours max. It would be very expensive. But it was done when waiting for shipper back in the non APU days.
