houstank.. i been here with swift almost 2 yrs and never paid for def with a comcheck. always at a truckstop and once in awhile at a terminal.

 

acton ca doing a 30 min break. got a preplan this morning going back down to otay mesa and for another mty trailer for walmart. got just south of corona only to have it cancelled. no empties. so now helping moving mty's from dropyard in adelanto ca to ups in sylmar ca takes about 4 hrs per trip. so be able to do 2 trips today.

 

Out of my terminal, for DEF at a TS, they have me doing a Company advance for the exact amount (25.00) with a PO Ref# so I get reimbursed. I have to load a comcheck and prepay before I pump. Then most of the time I have to call payroll every week cuz I didn't get reimbursed. The whole thing is a huge PITA. I only get DEF at a terminal if I happen to be at one that's keeps their totes out at the fuel pumps like Lancaster does. I'll bet my DM doesn't even know DEF can be paired with fuel at the TS.

 

Still here in IGH. Found out today that truck will not be done until tomorrow afternoon. Have to order to leveler arms and valves. Both of them are loose. Also fan belt and rotate the tires. Then when out of the shop of to get it aligned. Was told that if go new truck, get the T-680. Decisions, decisions. Talked to my old DM this morning, and he could not believe when IEL said that they could not guarantee financing on buying out this truck.

 

When the trucks first stared to come in with DEF they did not want the company drivers really getting DEF anywhere other than a terminal. this was due to driers where putting in DEF in the diesel tanks. There was even a time that at a terminal a driver had to let a mech put it in. It took some time before eve us L/O could use our Comdata card to get DEF at the same time.

 

When you are entering the info just answer 'Yes' to the DEF question, then the DEF pump will activate after you pump the fuel.

 

adelanto ca at a small t/s off us395. did the 2 trips and went and got the 3rd trailer,then drove here for the night. still had 2.25 hrs left, so could've made the delivery. so, i should easily be able to do 3 trip tomorrow. asked the dm in charge how many trips others wee doing and he didnt know. sounds like it just started. he said we need to move 200 trailers to ups and there 5 of us drivers doing it

 

if i get done earlier tomorrow, i'll walk over and visit my mom(3.6 miles from this t/s). if i have time left, i'll park at a gas station down the street from her. since i only have an mt trailer, dont think they'll sqwak to much lol. wont spend too long there.

 

At the Orleans in Las Vegas after my Costco load delivered @ 6:00 pm. Grabbed a load from Clearwater Paper in N Las Vegas to Clearwater in Lewiston with a liberal window. Then I get another preplan sent by a planner who assumed I could figure it out. Pickup time WAS 09/29 til 2359 and the delivery window any time before 10/02 @ 2359. Since it's a pre-loaded trailer sitting at Clearwater in Lewiston and I knew I could make the delivery on time (Corinne, UT) I grabbed it as well.

Got my truck serviced at the Petro in Kingman enroute to Vegas.

Why can't all days be this productive and easy going?

Delivered my load this morning and it wasn't until I only had 40 minutes left on my 14 (6 hours later) that I got a pplan.
So now I'm picking up in the morning at the terminal and then headed for a t-call in New Boston, MI on the 3rd.
They want it there by 1130, but I imagine I will get there a bit later that day.

Nearly 1600 miles, so a nice load.
There is no weight listed on the plan, but it looks to be a load of tires.

Still no luck getting back to the Target in PA.
Maybe they don't need me right now.
I'll wait until early November, then check back with them to see if I can help out through the holidays.
