I am glad you thought of hp_addict. He has helped so many on here. PRE-OIL the turbo as Pedigree Bulldog said.

You referring to Andre at turbo exchange ? He had quoted me a higher price cuz he puts them together and has a name for his stage one. I called turbo supply and gave them all the parts numbers. They shipped it in two boxes and I put them all together. I remember Andre saying something that he does to those turbos But I cant recall. Hope I get more out of my stage one.(life)

He doesn't post here anymore - a CAT guru. Got everything all scrubbed clean inside and out with dawn. Got a few new clamps, o-rings, gaskets. All the rubber elbows, hump boots, CAC pipes everything very clean with no embedded foreign material. Only thing left is CAC itself. Shook everything out of it until no more rattles. About to steam clean it opposite the flow of the air with a little dawn for good measure. Turbo hopefully here by lunch tomorrow I can get it back together otherwise it'll be Thursday.

While your waiting you might want to check/replace the exhaust manifold gasket, if it spit out part of an exhaust sleeve might be what caused the failure in the first place. 350,000 is awful low I know every once in a while they make a bad one but better safe than sorry. I'd hate to see you go through all this just to have it spit out the rest of the sleeve the first time you heat it up in a good pull. I'm just sayin...

The failure was on the compressor side. The wheel actually broke in half, shattered, scattered in a thousand pieces. The shaft that runs through it is still there. Exhaust side is undamaged. What is the best way to post a pic from my phone to this forum?

The only way I ever been able to upload pics from my phone is to e-mail them to myself then save them to my computer then pick them out of the "browse" box. I'm sure there is an easier way but I haven't found it.

Spent about 45 minutes at the local CAT house steam cleaning out my CAC. Let it dry out tonight everything should be good to go tomorrow. They didn't charge me a dime for that. Nice of them I appreciated it. Only people I knew of that had a steam cleaner. Something I need to get for myself at some point. Of course I've brought some business to them over the past 5 years and do buy all my filters there in bulk.

It sure is nice being close to home (and your well-known resources) when the spit hits the fan...
