Wow, I have never seen or heard of one do that! There had to be a flaw in the casting on that wheel.
-
absolutely amazing...

I hope I'm not living on borrowed time!!!!!! I feel for you RC, steering, springs, turbo. Hope you can run trouble free for awhile.

That doesn't looks good on that picture. What could have caused to break.

That's a first for me. I spiral fractured the shaft before and had the same experience as you did with the accelerating and pop. That's what I was expecting to see here.

Turbo on. Works great. Thanks for everyone's input and advice. Full day's work tear down plus re-install just like you said Pedigreed Bulldog. Worst part was CAC removal. Re-installing CAC was surprisingly a breeze didn't even remove the grill. I could do this on the side of the road it only needs basic tools but wouldn't want to. Lucky for me I was able to park almost immediately after it went out and park in a safe place to leave it - and only 40 miles from my house. The most difficult part if it happened a thousand miles from home would be getting the CAC properly cleaned out without a set of wheels back and forth to somewhere that could do that. I only lost about a quart of oil when it blew up. None got on the trailer. It even burned out clean from the mufflers and stacks on the ride back home this afternoon and quit smoking after about 20 miles. Since the shaft did not shatter and scatter pieces down into the oil return line I see no need to change the oil or filter as really no debris at all went into the oil. The compressor wheel blew apart at lower boost no load on the engine and most of the pieces were actually inside the compressor housing. A few pieces in the air filter and some in the CAC but not much. Took everything apart and cleaned it up meticulously. Hopefully this one lasts a lot longer than 350,000 miles!

Wow. Turbo looks great. My t600 has different intake pipe than yours. How much that actually cost?
-
Too #### much ought to be gold plated $2,250. I wonder if the old one that's busted has any value aside from just scrap? The exhaust wheel and cartridge appear undamaged. But the shaft may have been bent when compressor blew up.

I sure hope you're right about that. Be awful expensive if you're wrong, though. Oil & filters are cheap by comparison.
