I have two job offers to work on the oil fields hauling water. One pays hourly mid 20s and the other pays 21%. Which is most likely a better choice to go with? I have no experience driving so I am happy for the job offer just want to make the best decision possible.

Mid 20s no experience is good make sure they pay ot...that's gna add up even at 14hr days you'll make money....21% of how much??? Can make a difference, what if u only get 2 loads a day...I would take the hourly and network with the drivers from that company and see if they are making more then jump ship...bottom line Hourly is secure and % you better hustle to get paid but if u got detection or dwn time is no money gluck

No, they have ties to Halliburton. That is who brought them here from Alaska. (and ties to Conoco Philips) They are a very large company in Alaska. Set up shop at the Capital Lodge in Tioga now in addition to the camp near Trenton.

Anyone still in ND have any update on ASRC? They have Craigslist ads all over Vegas, SoCal, Phoenix, looking for drivers. I've been working overseas for the past few years and I'm looking to get back stateside. This one line in their always bothered me. The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company's continued operational needs once training is completed.

I don't think they would hire someone just to lay them off after training, but it has happened before. 15 years ago BN
immediately furloughed my class after 13 weeks of training.

I'd ask the recruiter why 30 of 30 trucks sitting near Tioga almost daily..... They have some halco work but it must be hit or miss. Nice equipment but i drive by it daily. Not many ASRC trucks working right now.

They lost that Halcon contract, Pretty sure they dont have any contracts now. I was told you live in the coffin sleeper or pay $50 a day for mancamp. They went from hourly to percentage pay and a driver that joined us recently said he was doing 4 loads a week. Also, their trucks are LONG. Even with the coffin sleeper they have a huuugggee wheelbase and very long trailers, you are just not gonna have a good time manuevering on some of the tighter pads.

All those trucks that are all shiny and clean in Tioga are being prepped for sale to ConocoPhillips. I heard ASRC is big in Alaska but it looks like their Nodak operations have failed and are pretty much dead.
