Finally got to Houston! Raining a lot!
mickimause Thanks this. -
Flying J near/in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (right off of I35). What a frustrating day. I was moved from a partial home run pod to a full one so I had to switch trucks yesterday mid trip. Now I'm in a Columbia glider again. Everything was fine yesterday but this morning it decides that it doesn't want to start. My cooler was still on, the dome light worked and I had just over 12 on the volt gauge so you would think the batteries would be ok. However, when I went to try and start it it tried to turn over then started clicking like it does when the batteries are dead. Strange. They had to send a wrecker out to pull start the truck. It started fine the rest of the day but I'm worried that it will do the same thing tomorrow morning after sitting all night again. Thoughts?
Also, I'm picking up a 46+k load (ugh) tomorrow morning at Nestle Purina Petcare in OKC headed to Texas. Anyone picked up from there? Were you able to get the load legal? Thanks. -
Just went past there a little while ago. At a service plaza between Okc. and Tulsa. I was at Purina there last week. It was close, but I got it legal by putting the trl tandems in the 11th hole. Barely legal, but legal. How much fuel do you have on? I only had 3/8 of a tank when I picked up there.

I would run it all night myself if you can..Well if it don't have those idle senors in it. They need to get that taken care of.

You're in a glider so you won't have any problem scaling out with Nestle loads. They know how to legally get every last pound they can get on that trailer. Make sure your 5th wheel is either all the way forward (if you don't mind running over 12000 on the steers) or the second spot from the front. Water loads are more predictable on how to set the tandems (11th hole is usually the spot on Wabash trailers) but on the pet food loads it depends. Generally the 42' mark is probably a good starting point.

Too cold to run it. I've tried to leave it running at every stop today but it would shut off after a couple of minutes. Fortunately it started back up every time. I'm going right by Dallas with the load I'm picking up tomorrow so I can stop at the OC and see the shop if it acts up again tomorrow morning. Just don't want to have to wait for another pull start tomorrow. Crossing my fingers.

Thanks for the tips. Also Drifter I have a half of a tank of fuel. This Flying J was my fuel stop before I delivered my load in OKC today but once I saw my preplan I decided not to fuel.

You should be fine. The outlaw in me is coming out, but you shouldn't have any scales to worry about. This post is the views of Drifter42 and in no way supported by TTR or it's members.Last edited: Oct 3, 2014
scythe08 and mickimause Thank this. -
On the other hand, it would be funny if you kept having to have a wrecker come out to pull start you considering the stupid sensors are causing the battery drain not being able to idle. Company drivers all over the country need to put on a surge of dead batteries this winter to hit Schneider's bottom line due to all the wrecker fees. Maybe then they'll notice.
One of the reasons I switched out of company is because I wasn't about to put up with another winter of deciding if I wanted to run the heater and stay warm or actually be able to sleep with CPAP machine and freeze.
