Hello all! I enjoy reading this thread, thank you for all of the wonderful posts. I'm applying for a position in Apple Valley and have a question. I was an in-house trainer for a year and did not drive the minimum 50,000 miles required. Will Wal Mart make any exception to this requirement?
-
Unfortunately no, they won't make an exception. They didn't even make an exception for a guy who went out on a medical issue (drove for Walmart for 12 years) after being out (non-workers comp/non-leave of absence) for a year. Another driver inquired about the rehire policy, wanted to take a local instructor job to be at home to care for someone, was told there's no such thing as a 'rehire' in the traditional definition of the word, and would have to start from scratch and meet ALL requirements just the same as a first-time Walmart applicant. I can tell you that even though you're probably pretty depressed right about now, it would definitely be worth getting your 3 years/50,000 miles and apply after you meet the requirements. Sorry to bear the bad news though.
