That's true. Once several years back a man that graduate with my wife is an Arkansas State trooper & thru the years I've gotten to know him quite well. Once in town he stopped me for having a headlight out, wrote me a warning ticket & told me when I have a headlight out wait until he stops me before replacing it so he could meet his quota.

Yet all others will tell me there is NO quota!

The "quota" is also an inside joke among many police personel. LEO's will use that term with people because it is usually accepted by the general public as fact, whereas it is closer to a myth. Truth usually is most police have to show some kind of activities during their shift. Writing citations or warning tickets are examples of an activity. So is investigating an accident, assisting a stranded motorist, an emergency blood relay, serving court papers, court attendance, transport prisoner, etc. In other words, supervisors want to make sure that you were not parked under a big oak tree all day sleeping or making time with the new girl that just moved into the neighborhood!

I suggest you contact DataQ at your local FMCSA office. They will have a copy if it exists. I ran into a clueless DOT officer who wrote me up on a roadside but made 2 glaring mistakes. So I contacted DataQ and told them the situation. They fixed the errors and all was well. Always good to know your options if you need stuff to be changed or requested.
    good luck
