No problem at all... I don't like any gambling...I went inside Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ once just to check it out but no interest in playing with their machines or whatever...

Maybe they will let you "practice" with the tractor in their yard for a while before the road test...

When I chose my actual co., one of the reasons was because all they have are straight 10... which is all I know...
Well...... they took me to a CDL school for the road test and ALL they had was super 10!!
Oh man... I freaked out... Almost gave up the test... But the owner of the school was a 70 yr old former driver... He calmed me down and took me to service roads, no city driving and kept telling me what to do and when with the gears and clutch... I grinded A LOT but passed the test...
Ask them to let you drive around their yard for a while before the test.... Good luck man...

I could not have asked for a better response. ......KAK Thanks this. -
Okay , I kind of want some opinions on what ya'll think ......
If this all works out and I take this job . How should I go about turning truck in and quiting ?
I mean I am not just gonna clean it out and park it somewhere and say come find it, so dont think that . I have more sense then that .
There is a terminal close to my house , so I mean just clean out call say , sorry but its not working out here for me and turn the truck in that way .
or should I say ,,, give a few weeks notice ?
I know tou guys always give good advice . Tis the reason I am here. Lol -
Hey Tangerine, each one here has their own "style".... me, no matter what co. it's, I would give them a 15 day advance notice in writing not over QualCom but a letter... Did that with my last co. and in person... even though they told me drivers there quit every day... some over the phone, others when they arrive at the terminal... I would say, do it in a professional way and don't burn your bridges...
tangerineGT Thanks this. -
2 weeks is always ideal but when dealing with a mega company they are just as likely to tell you to bring it to the closest terminal and you could be a 1000 miles from home.
My suggestion....schedule hometime. Once you get the dispatch to go toward the house give them notice via Qualcomm. More than likely they will be fine with you just turning the truck in. After delivery instead of having you come back out.TruckDuo, Rocks, tangerineGT and 1 other person Thank this. -
Thats kind of what I was thinking . I really dont want them to send me say to Arizona , and then be like okay have a good trip home when I live in PA. Lol. I think that is partially what I am worried about , so I will probably take that advice there. Thanks...
And Rocks , not saying your way is wrong . Its actually the most professional way to do it , but like I said I dont want to be left sit 1,000 or more miles away from home ...
I have a feeling if this all goes down its gonna happen pretty quick. I probably wont even realize it happened till it already did. Lol -
Where did you pick the truck up ??
Dont be surprised if they want it returned to that terminal..tangerineGT Thanks this. -
In slc , but #### that !!!!
I wonder what they will do if I just take it to the closest terminal ?
Ahhh great !!!!!! Well I guess I have about 2 weeks to figure this out.. -
Thet really only care about 2 things.
1. You don't abandon the truck.
2. You don't quit under dispatch.
Trucking isn't like the corporate world where they need time to find and train a replacement. You want to it right but just let your FM know your plans and communicate what you're doing and you'll be fine.Rocks and tangerineGT Thank this.
