I have a peterbilt 2010 387 model. Have the same popping sounds when make a turn! I have replaced hangers shackles pins bushings. Tightened all u bolts and everything else. Still makes sound. I am checking king pins this week which i dont know if that has anything to do with it. Pretty much lost. The only thing that subsides it for a little bit is when i grease the heck out of the front end but only lasts bout 5 days. I am not sure if it is coming from the front part of the spring. I know the back is tight because I just rebuilt it. There doesnt look like the are anything to replace in the front of spring. Are the hangers there too? That might be wore. Let me know what other things that i should check. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i agree with the posters that say shackle pins, check the bushings for wear. they also make spacers to take up any side to side slack.
mine was popping real bad till i re did my spring bushings, now it rarly ever does it but i could have fit a couple more spacers in there. normally only pops now when im making tight turns in really uneven ground.Big Lou Thanks this. -
There is space between the front of the springs. I seen that today there are a washer on both sides but loose. I guess I would have to drop the front spring to put them in or is there an easier way? Thanks

Worn/loose pitman arms were a common cause of clunks for the 387, especially on hard turns.

Does anyone know how to change it or have a diagram? Is it something I can do myself?

can anyone tell my if those bushings or the gap in there would make the tires front wear on inside and outside edge only. I checked the whole front end and did axle alignment and still have wear on the outside edges and a little on inside of tires.
