How does Millis treat DOT physicals where sleep apnea testing goes? Such as, a person has "signs" of sleep apnea, like big neck and high BMI. Do they require a sleep study?

 

I haven't heard that they require it. If you tell the doctor that you have sleep apnea then you havev to show compliance with your treatment plan before he will issue dot card. Also, he may ask if you snore, get sleepy during the day, etc. Depending on how you answer those questions he may require a sleep study. I will say this...I was diagnosed with it and using a CPAP machine pretty much changed my life. I feel 1000 percent better. So if you think you may have it, I would recommend seeing a sleep doctor. Thank you. I went for a sleep study a few years ago and everything was good. But I still have big neck and BMI is higher than they like. I know some companies require a sleep study and some don't. Was curious where Millis fell.

 

I've been thinking about getting into OTR for awhile now, and I really like Millis. I have a couple questions. First of all, I might possibly be moving to the Milwaukee area if this works out. Is that a good area for getting hometime with Millis? I know they have a terminal in Richfield.

I already have a Class B CDL and a DOT Med Card. If I choose to train with Millis, will they make me take another DOT physical if I already have a current Fed Med card? Not a big deal, just wondering if they require you to retake it.

 

Milwaukee is a good area for home time and they would probably have you do another physical

 

If your out with a trainer, should he leave you down the road, in the middle of the woods, next to his 78 yr old mothers house while he goes to his house? Having to use a nasty bathroom in a fallen down garage!

 

Iirc MILLIS will take your physical if you have the long form and it's under 90 days old.

Interested in MTI I live in NJ, do they have a terminal near Philadelphia? Some companies will not school people from NJ, would like to start at a company that gets at least some positive driver reviews i.e. Millis or Prime as opposed to Swift.
