I've noticed that it's typically ignorant people who do the most squealing about what other drivers do.

    Let me elaborate:

Besides the 160 hrs of training I have at Roadmaster, I have an additional 85 hrs of training in the Smith system. I have been in the Richard Petty Driving Experience several times, I've been through EVOC training at a vocational school sponsored by the CHP, I've been in demolition derbys, and also made videos for state DOT's. I've pushed vehicles to their limits, including CMV's. Nothing is funner than taking a loaded tanker into a jackknife on a controlled course and pulling out of it using the trolley lever.

Whats my point? By taking vehicles beyond their limits and keeping control, I've learned in a short time what you can and cannot do with various configurations, and I'm less likely to complain about what others do because I'm more confident in my abilities to react.

    THANK YOU!!!

Im im a driver and all day I hear on the radio from people whining and crying like a lil baby about how SLOW our trucks are. You are very correct. These trucks are like 80,000 lb articulated Pintos. There are many who actually feel that CMVs should be required to drive slower.

As as far as the tail gating is concerned a large CMV or the driver of such a truck rather is supposed to keep a flooring distance of at least 4 seconds from the vehicle in front.

on the other hand I see many people in cars tailgating trucks. The driver of the car can only see the Back door of the truck they can't see dangers in ftont of the truck and if the truck's driver has to romp down on the brakes the guy in the car goes under the back of the trailer.

You're arrogant . In the real world as opposed to your controlled closed course dreamworld things don't happen the way you want them to. You may have gobs and gobs of training but you obviously have ZERO common sense. The SMITH system ( if you were actually awake through it) as you know teaches you how to handle unexpected situations in normal conditions. On element of the smith system is to "leave yourself an out " if you are driving beyond a sensible speed and are doing it just because you are "Confident " you're actually setting yourself up for disaster.

Engineers from the shipyard at Harland and Wolff felt " confident on their shipbuilding. They were also in actuality arrogant as well. One of their greatest achievements failed miserably on April, 14 1912.

if you don't rethought your think process you will fail miserably too.

I can't stop laughing at the stupidity in your post. Reread my post, then shut up.

Also it wouldn't hurt you to pick up some reading comprehension classes.

One more note: With only 2 years of driving under your belt, your "reality vs closed course" and "holier than thou" attitude isn't worth the pot to piss in. You haven't been driving nearly long enough to be an expert, so save yourself the trouble and don't act like one.

Some here have obviously never pulled a smooth bore tanker with 25 ton rolling for and aft behind them. I can handle a rig with the best of them, but it was always..... on my mind to keep my distance. I never wanted to be standing along side the hyway with cameras filming my company truck sitting on top of a mom, dad and 4 children. All the skill in the world will not mean squat and ever erase that from a memory......horrible regrets....."if only I could do it over....."

This is where I was getting at. Nearly every accident can be avoided with proper training and knowing your vehicles limitations.

Then your training missed its mark. This is the problem that not only prevents driver training from working, it makes drivers more dangerous. Unfortunately, more training virtually always results in more confidence.

(There's only 1 racing technique that applies to street driving. Long, boring example here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q1WTgKD4gE&list=UUz8jzvWHJ1y9dijv9YdED5Q )

"Advanced" "driver" training, if it takes, instills more caution, and less confidence, and is intended to focus on operating in manner which does not include "reacting" in the classic sense, but being first to detect and react to and avoid developing circumstances that may lead to a crash. If your funny experience taught you anything it should have been how easy it is to jackknife a rig (and not offer what is essentially a "driving lesson" consisting of 9 words).
