Not only do the truck drivers need to be more tight lipped about their loads, the employees at the various fuel stops also need to be more tight lipped when drivers are giving them "sensitive" information concerning loads as explosives, or other types of freight that is subject to hijacking by terrorists or other types of criminals.

I joke around with people at work that if one of our trucks was to get stolen the thief would probably bring it back and apologize because of all the extra stuff on it that creates issues. I just haul the same concrete around. It never leaves the trailer. When people ask me what I am doing I normally tell them that I am just out for a drive. There have been a few people where I have been honest with them but I still don't tell them everything.

Every time someone asks what I have, I always answer 'pet food.' I don't think there's a black market for dog chow.

You would be surprised at the VALUE of some SCIENTICLY BLENDED dog / pet food loads that use to come out of Kentucky

Highest dollar load I've pulled recently is soy beans...sometimes it'd be nice if the rate reflected the load's value, but then again most of what I haul costs more to have it hauled than it cost to buy, so I guess in those instances I'm glad rates have nothing to do with the market value of the load...

If they steal petfood, chances are it will end up at a Saturday flea market somewhere.

Copper on a flat... Lots of looks and finger pointing going down the road, and usually one person comes over to ask questions about it. It's funny how fast a tarp changes all that.
