At home, been home since Wednesday afternoon and my PTA is set for Friday 10/17.
Headed for Disneyland tomorrow with my family.
When I come back I'm gonna start running on the Phoenix container fleet. Fewer miles than a good week OTR, but I'll be home at least twice during the week AND take a 34 every week AT HOME!

Cooling my heels until who knows in Edwardsville.

Got unloaded in Milwaukee yesterday and promptly picked up another to tcall in Edwardsville by this morning so I could get on the SIMS to get the Winter Driving out of the way. (This is the 3rd terminal I've gone to to TRY and get this done). Drove straight thru last nite and got here with 4mins left on my 11. Go upstairs to sign up and find big sign NO SIMS CLASS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WTF!!! I'm getting tired of wasting my time and lost miles chasing a class that you're required to take uncompensated.

Then get a ppln p/u here in the yard in a couple hours going to Atlanta for Monday AM. Lightweight and 800+ miles so I accept so I can get outta here. Go to the window and find out the load hasn't even been picked up in Denver yet. WTF!! Duped again. Being 9.5hrs away and also the driver will need a 10 enroute ensures I'll be sitting another 20+ hrs before I can leave and then be jammed up tight on the delv appt.

Called my terminal and had it removed. Now I'll play the waiting game to see what else might pop up.
I feel your pain now Lepton!!

Jodi usually teaches the sim classes. I'll text her and see what's up.

Update: Jodi is no longer there. I guess they haven't found another instructor for the class.

Steve the Can Cowboy! You need to practice your speeding and tailgating in traffic skills. Since you'll be near home more often maybe I can get those two steaks you owe me! Actually it would be nice to catch up with you next time I'm out there. Best luck with the new gig.

Oh man oh man... Edwardsville is bad... and to rub salt into the wound you arrived just in time for the weekend mouth breathers. Their weekend and night planners have to be some of the worst I've encountered.

You may regret removing that Atlanta load, you might end up like I did the first weekend I arrived in Edwardsville earlier this summer... sitting around for three days to move two loads totaling 244 miles. That contributed to the worst weekly total miles I've run with Swift, and second place is nowhere close.

Jenziedk: I was told before I left the instructor had quit. Wasn't told why and didn't ask.

Doing a 10 near Neelys Landing MO to set up picking up a preloaded trailer at lunch tomorrow going to Fairburn on the west side of Atlanta Monday morning.

Lepton: Man, I lucked out!! Was out back on the bench having a smoke listening to all the whiners and cryers moaning about no miles and short crappy loads till I was about to gag. Just politely nodding my head listening to these Company drivers talking about they were only getting short and local pplns and they were turning them down. I'm thinking Idiots!, I'll go see if I can get one just to make some money and get out today.

Went to the window and told the two persons hanging out if they had something that needed to get out of the yard I'd take it just for something to do. Apparently one was a planner and seemed shocked I was asking to do one. Was told thanks but they had it covered...but then asked for my truck number and said they had something I might like and sent me a ppln. Told them thanks and went out to my chariot to find a light load with a 360 mile deadhead to p/u and 500 loaded to GA!! Hot Dog!! Was a little note to grab any mty off the yard, do a Mac 5&6 and I was good to go. But there's more..a few minutes later get another stacked from GA to MN!!! Felt like I hit the Lottery.

Grabbed an empty and waved Bye-Bye to the whiners!!

Nice. I'm still in OKC, finally got one this afternoon that picks up tomorrow to Roanoke, TX. It's only 180 miles, but it gets me out of here and in the DFW area for more freight. It sucks to have sat here for two days, but at least my APU is fixed and working again.

As far as the sim instructor, she took another position at a company in Minnesota.

been running fairly hard this week so far, last night ran to Vegas and then Sterilite in Lake Havasu, our new site manager was planning last night and kicked me out a nice Dublin for today once I make it back to the dc, 1260 miles in just 2 days is pretty decent plus what I worked Thursday and Friday. Right now shut down at the rest area off the 40 before Barstow, so far been able to shut down here every single time I have gone to Lake Havasu, this time had 8min left on the drive line.

HousTank, you sure did well getting those loads out of Edwardsville. Makes me wonder what's up with the 360 mile deadhead?

I checked out my upcoming paycheck, and saw my first Platinum bonus. Almost $1500. Makes me double think my idea of going off to running dedicated the 1st and 2nd quarters.
