I got a call from them, and a interview soon. Any info on pay/benefits and working conditions?

Like most foodservice companies, pay is good, work is very hard. I had a former coworker go there, he likes it. He told me he only works 45 hours/week or so.

I've never worked for them, but I know a driver who has been there for 8 years, he would not tell me numbers but he said the pay is very well, and they take care of their drivers. He said the equipment is top notch too.

So the interview went great. He said starting average is 40 to 50 but some of the senior guys make 60+. I haven't driven a 10 speed in some months so we'll see.

Well I worked for gfs or 7 years they have there so called corner stone values but there
b.s. You have to be all pro Gordon's if you don't give up your whole life your not dedicated enough. But they pay well have good benefits top notch equipment keep your mouth shut and work. My opinion when Paul Gordon died the kids took it over now they got this go big attitude it's all about numbers and money now and they don't give a hoot about you but still need u to give up your whole life to make that big ### machine work. There getting way to big to be family owned they are pretty much a corporation that can make up there own dam rules because there no union to keep them in check. That's how I felt but others agree and disagree. I quit and went to drive for sysco food service where there a union and everyone plays by the same set of rules what applies to you applies to everyone! GFS what rule applies to you don't matter to the bosses son or lead guys kid. All in all it is a very good company to work for I just got sick of the b.s. So left but there's b.s. Everywhere

I actually got hired two weeks ago. The route I'm taking over for the guy said he made 68k last year. It should be good, but there is a lot of stops to learn before I feel completely comfortable.

Congrats man it's hard ### work but it does pay well it is a great place to work I just got burned out and now do shuttles for sysco a lot easier then humping cases be careful and good luck!!!!what d.c. Are you located at what state? There a growing company and there not planning on selling out anytime soon so there's lots of work there too and a awesome profit sharing plan but beware there is some back stabbing ### kissers there too you will see you may as well be one the bosses good side because if your not life will suck a little but it does beat the hell out of working in gfs warehouse I did that an that absolutely blows!!! Driving is where it is at good luck!!!

A very organized place, as a driver finding your cases and speed are your friends with component pay. Nice equipment, 28' trailers, early start times, done early enough for family time. Pay avg 1100 per week on about 800 cases, 15 stops. Profit sharing, good insurance, and nice xmas party with actual real entertainment, i.e. jeff fox worthy...I had my routes down to a science, worked 29 hours, start at 4am done before 10am, miss the hours, not the work. My former coworkers in Chicago are leaving for Sysco, 30 an hour, overtime paid after 8. But not in Detroit, two tier wage system.

I find it weird that these Gordon Food Service posts are in the Gordon Trucking forum. There must not be a 'food service forum.'
