I'd jump onto a mega carrier to get ypur CDL if you can't get on LTL. I would apply every time there is an opening. You'll be better off to land a LTL job by April when it's the hiring season. The megas will try to scare you about breaking contract but I'd rather pay it back later when your making good money on ltl. I'd jump ship the minute a LTL will hire you.

    Shaggy Thanks this.

Sometimes Schneider will pay for CDL school. They send you to a private school.

JBS Carriers sends you to Roadmasters

Southern Refrigerated Transport sends you to University of Arkansas Community College w/room & board.

Celadon has their own CDL schools with room & board.

Con-way would probably be the best choice since your goal is LTL in the future.

If you dont want your genitals ground into the dirt, avoid CWF in Reno..I worked there for more thn 2 years...Nothing but 14 hr days and lots of chaining in the winter. Good supgroup of guys that work there and will help you if you need it.

Try the Old Dominion, its by the Mustang exit.
