I've seen videos where they lock when connecting, but when you're going to drop the trailer how does it unlock? Dumb question I know

There's a pin on the side.
Pull it towards you.
Some have in cab fifth wheel release. You just pop it from inside the cab.

The air-release tandem pins are pretty nice! Just a little button to push in or pull out...

Those in cab fifth wheel release switches bother me a bit. I don't have one, so I'm a little uneducated on this, but what's to stop some yahoo from accidentally unlocking it when driving down the road?

Air 5th wheel release only works when your red and/or yellow knobs are out(Every truck is slightly different).

OK that makes sense now. I kinda figured after I wrote that, but like I said, I've never had such luxury lol.
