After empty this morning rushed to Logan, UT for reload...
I wanted to practice my driving skills... so, instead of taking the regular I-84 and I-80 to WY, took the beautiful and adventurous US-30/ 89 instead
It saved me about 45 miles but didn't gain much time...
Cause I had to slow down quite some... I am almost 78,000 lbs and there were lots of curves, some quite sharp, and ups and downs...
Unfortunately couldn't take pictures of the most beautiful part of the road...
This was a very pretty view... of Bear Lake...
Took it slow and easy all the way down...
I would not have taken this route if it were snowing...
Now parked at a rest area at WY and NE border...RedForeman, Giggles the Original, FatDaddy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Very beautiful pics Rocks
Sitting at Ann Taylor Louisville, KY for our load to be ready then off to Carol Stream, IL.Rocks Thanks this. -

Lost power at the Electrolux warehouse in Fairburn, GA. Consequently the front gate is stuck shut, lmao. -
I'll be down there later this afternoon. Taking my break at the Cleveland TN Pilot right now.

At this rate I may still be here when you get here.

Power is back on in the main building. Guess not at the guard shack.

LOL...actually I'm going to Owens Corning, but can't deliver till tomorrow. Gonna hole up at the truckstop for the night.
-
That's where I was going to go hang out until I got dispatched.

Camping at the Carnesville, GA Petro. Started out a great day last night with a 2nd fastest load ever at a chicken plant, 45 minutes from check in to leaving. Best time was a holiday a while back and they were waiting on me (last truck, booked last minute with a ton of deadhead) and that one took 30 minutes.
The fast load encouraged me to just get DC in my mirrors at o-dark-thirty, leaving from middle of nowhere DE. A late nap beforehand set me up to do an all nighter. Actually does good to get me teed up for a 0330 departure in the morning for delivery. I'll be approving myself a few days off this week after delivering tomorrow. I can count the weeks I've run on recap on one hand and this week was one of them. Far too productive.
If I have enough energy after catching a little paperwork tomorrow, I'm thinking of taking one of the murdercicles off the battery tender and wasting some gasoline. Oh yeah, there's some sort of KW sales thing down at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Thursday evening I think I'll work in too. Oughta be good for some free food even if I pass on the pace car ride.
