I'm looking to start driving OTR. I have been class A licensed since 1991, but never drove OTR. First trucking job was Class A tow truck in San Diego. WOW dive right in, over-weight, over-length, sometimes over-height, heavy haul, recovery. Great experience for a newbie. After a 1 1/2 years got tiered of trucks so bad CHP would red-flag them. So I went to work for flatbed company hauling brick and sand, I would drive from Chula Vista to upland brick plant and back at night plus local deliveries. Than started working for O/O running bottom dumps during the day. In 1996 my father needed help with his electrical business. So I left trucking. Over the next 14 years I worked in the construction field as a journeymen electrician. But never lost my love for the road. In 2011 I went back to trucking. My licenses was still valid but no one wanted someone with no recent experience. So I went to United Truck Driving School (what a joke). 2 1/2 weeks of how to pass DMV test. The good thing was my driving instructor Bill help me get a job. In 2012 I started driving for Moran Trucking a subcontractor Davis Trucking. I drive line haul from San Diego to LA and back. If you call 4-5 pick-up and deliveries a day line haul. I am payed salary $150.00 a day. Some days are 8-10 hours, some 12-15, all pays the same. Not enough to live in San Diego. I am looking to get out of California. But I don't want to start at the bottom as a newbie! I know I still need to learn OTR, but my experience should count for something. Class A all endorsement, plus TWIC card. I would like to own my own truck some day. Any ideas??

Schneider Bulk is good and can also make you an owner-operator.
Tankers is easy money. Don't know if they hire tanker drivers in Nevada, but they do in Texas. Their tanker school is in Houston.

Hi dude, My name is Max. I drive for Crete Carrier. They are so good to me that It's my second go round with them!
Not gonna make it fluffy or anything, but, the pay starts at about .42 cpm which will get you aver $1k wkly with good miles (Nationally). I love this company because of how they run me, let me take breaks & breathers in between
then haul ### again!!! The benifits are right away, (not 90-180 days later), 401k, newer equipt.! Lots of terminals means lots of places to stop & wash cloths, watch tv (football season) :) and chill while truck repairs or service.
They are wholly self owned, meaning no worry's of getting paid or paid correctly and few "mistakes" because of cost cutting... Good company, good benifits, good miles & getting you the heck outta Cali is no problemo! Give me a jingle for more info, I am not a recruiter!!! I am a driver who had a minor problem & needed a break to get back in the game & they did for me!
PS; I can't promise you any Cali runnin tho, as they are not a Calif company at all!!! Mostly midwest & East/south etc.
Madmoneymax@gmail.com hit me up there as I am not on the forum much these days, just happened to be there now...

If you want to move to Texas there are 3 Fedex Ground terminals within a 30 mile radius of each other, one in Ft Worth, one in Dallas and one in Irving. I am a Fedex Ground contractor in that area running 7 trucks on various team and solo runs. It's a good job that gets you home nightly and has weekends off. Most of my routes do regional buttheads (meet and turns) and return back to Dallas/ Ft Worth.

I am always looking for good CDL-A drivers doubles endorsement.

Click on my user name and message me and I'll get you my contact info.
